I could've been killed last night. So many reckless drivers.

Driving on a main 30 road between towns, first in line with about 4-5 cars behind me nothing in front. Suddenly a car comes hurtling toward me, on the wrong side of the road, doing about 80mph. He was swaying onto two wheels then the other two, all over the road, wrong side then right side darting around a traffic island, it was like something out of a horror film.

I instinctively mounted the pavement, very lucky that this was an option as some of the road has railings/street furniture. I had a split second before he whooshed past me at breakneck speed. Luckily I think he missed the cars behind me as he'd swayed back to 'his' side of the road by then.

I feel so so lucky. Once he'd passed me I flashed the cars behind and just set off again. It took me about 30 seconds before I realised I was on adrenaline and my heart was going like crazy. I pulled into a side road and rang the police.

Stolen car/on drugs/whatever. I'm lucky I had good reactions and lucky nobody was onthe pavement as I'd have either seriously injured/killed them or had to just let the car kill me.

Nothing can be done about it, I realise. It happened far too fast for me to get any good look at the car.

I'll be surprised if someoen isn't injured as a result of the stupid asshole 😡

That sounds awful. Hopefully someone will have had a dashcam so the police can find the twat.

I’d put money on drugs being involved somewhere.

Hope you’re feeling less shaken up now.

Very likely to be drug fuelled driving. Probably thinks he was king of the road but he could so easily have caused one or more deaths. Sorry you were put in that scary situation OP.

Utter wanker. My son had his black cab written off last Boxing Day night (when it was parked on a wide road) by someone who’d been drinking and taking drugs smashing into the back of it. Pushed it forwards into my niece’s car that was parked in front of the cab. Luckily cab was rented so he was given a replacement but £20,000 worth of damage done. So glad you’re ok OP. Horrible, horrible xx

The frightening thing is it probably isn’t drugs or drink or anything other than young men brought up playing Forza who think driving is a video game and they are invincible.
You see it all the time around here- 60 miles an hour the wrong side of the road in a residential area.

Its so frightening. Almost felt like it hadn't happened. Such a 'WTF?!' Moment. My new year could've been very different.

I was convinced when I called the police that somoene else would've done already but they said not, so I'm very glad I did! Bystander effect.

Thanks all. Don't know why but I felt I had to write it down.
