New years resolutions

Do you make them?
I didn't in the past, then some years I did, but never stuck to them.
Story of my life, 'shows potential but lacks the effort of follow through'

This year I want to focus on tracking, going with that old adage 'what is measured, matters'
I want to track my spending, and my eating.
I am not looking to make gigantic changes, but smaller ones I stick too, like plan before I spend, or eat intentionally.

Anyone else on board for making a change, or do most people not bother really?

I admit it does seem a bit daft to use an arbitrary date to start something, yet here I am, haha

Also all the usual disclaimers
Not a bot, no ai, not writing an article

I have specific bonus related targets at work which I agree with management. So I always resolve to push myself to smash them and then split it between cash and pension.

Others for 2025

  • stay out of debt (no creditcards etc)
  • invest 25% of gross pay (pension and S&S ISA)
  • at least 12 family days out (1/mo average) or 1/week over school holidays - planned ahead
  • get the wife and I bikes
  • if possible, garage conversion (office/gym space)
  • get back on it with exercise after slacking the last few months.... starting tomorrow

Generally pretty good at keeping them on track. Discipline is the to most things.....

That sounds like a great plan!
