Good Morning Everyone! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, after a nice lie in snuggled up with boy kitten. Girl kitten was on the floor at the end of the bed instead of get in with us 🤷‍♀️. They've both had breakfast & are exploring the back hallway & downstairs loo again.

Dd2 and her friend are, surprisingly, up already after their sleepover! I can hear their rather loud chatter. Dd1's sock-on, and probably will be for a while yet.

Today's a nothing much kind of day here. The kitchen needs straightening up, and fridge needs re-organising, plus there's washing and washing up to be done (when isn't there!).

I'm going to spend the day crafting & doing a few bits for work. I want to start painting some peg dolls, finish laminating & hopefully get to the videos I need to watch for my lessons.

I imagine the girls will just mooch - I know the two youngest wanted to do their history homework together. Dd1 has A Level work to be going on with too.

Tea is a help yourself type affair for the next couple of nights - I may have over bought on cheese 🙈🤣 so that needs eating. Or there's whatever else they fancy that they can sort.

Later on it's my usual Self Care Sunday scrubby everything shower, but I might swap it for a hot bath with my book. Then an early ish night ready for nipping out tomorrow morning.

What about all of you? 🙂

Up at about 8:30am, my first lie-in of the Christmas holiday so far! Breakfast was dippy egg and soldiers. Yum.
Have run the dishwasher and am now doing a load of laundry.
Yesterday I worked my way through a leftover bag of the 15p potatoes from Tesco and turned them all into mash for the freezer. It made 12 portions, which is good. Mash does well in the freezer, but in my experience you need to try and get through it in about 6-8 weeks, so plenty of mash in our future!

No plans for today, which is nice. Can't even think of any little "pottering" jobs that need doing. Lovely!
I did make a start on season 2 of Squid Game yesterday, so will likely continue with that at some point.
No idea what we're having for dinner! There's a single leg of Boxing Day chicken left, which someone will probably have for lunch, and apart from plenty of pate, and a couple of servings of rather uninspired roulade, that's all the Christmas fresh bits finished.

Tomorrow I'm going over to the 2 big retail parks near me for operation Find A New Sofa. Have a vague idea of styles, but nothing set in stone.

Morning all.
Missed you yesterday for some reason, @lucysmam
I was working last week (not Christmas/Boxing day thankfully) so first days of the holidays for me.
Had a fairly lazy day yesterday, with a short beach walk for some air.

Much more productive today.
Wool/delicate wash on
Sorted the fridge and freezer
"Normal" food shop ordered for tomorrow
DS and a friend have gone to the gym, I said i would pick them up, but no word from them yet.
I'm going to make soup later as I have turkey and ham stock in the beer fridge!

Having a week off from my usual weekend classes so have plenty of time which is nice.

Good morning/afternoon everyone, for a few brief moments we had sunshine and blue skies here but it’s back to gloomy skies and probably fog before long.
I have done the ironing, tidied the kitchen and living room, cleaned the bathroom and loo and put an M&S lasagna in the oven for dinner. I’ve put away the Waitrose shop and done an online order for Tuesday because DS, DDIL and the DGSs are coming either tomorrow or Tuesday for a few nights. It will be lovely to see them again!
DH did the morning dog walk, I will take her out later.
A quiet afternoon here, I’m watching Martin Clunes at the moment.

Good morning everyone!

I slept til 10am!!! Then walked the dog to collect a parcel - a bargain Emma Bridgewater mug, which of course I've already tested. Just going to check if any cheese needs eating and then I'm going to start the new Christmas jigsaw.

DS made a slushy with his new machine and has gone back to bed. DD has chemistry uni stuff all over the kitchen table. She's had a week of chilling so I think she wants to get back into it now - exams in two weeks.

Maybe bacon baps for tea I think.

OldTinHat · 29/12/2024 12:34

Good morning @lucysmam and all!

My DS and DIL have gone home, so I'm listening to the washing machine whirring around.

Dog is avoiding me in an attempt to stay warm, hidden behind the cushions instead of going for a walk, but I'll drag her out in a bit.

I've got crafting stuff to get on with, but I can't be bothered atm.

Have a lovely day everyone! The next Lucysmam thread will probably be in 2025!

"Big Tesco" done.

Toaster was a fail, apparently not of adequate "toasting capacity", would only do two instead of 4 slices. I've only seen 2 done before, but I'm not going to argue that point. Also something to do with "not good for crumpets".

However, kitchen has been refreshed with new cutlery and roasting pans.

We did manage the fitted sheets for the bed.

Home for a cup of tea and painkillers. My first proper trip out since major surgery, so in all a good day.

My kindle has mysteriously gone missing and I CBA to leave the house so I've been doom-scrolling on my phone. So far, I've researched buy-to-let rules in Scotland and which rides are currently open at Chessington, completed today's Wordle and semi-given up on a high score on today's spelling bee.

HelpMeGetThrough · 29/12/2024 17:01

I'm going to get back into Wordle in 2025, starting on the 1st.

Played it quite a bit last year and then stopped for some unknown reason.

RealHousewivesOfTaunton · 29/12/2024 17:09

@HelpMeGetThrough I've found it really hard this week. I definitely wouldn't recommend starting today!
