Can I ask you what magazine subscriptions you're starting in 2025?

Just that really. Magazines feel a bit old fashioned. But I just spent a pleasant afternoon at the coffee shop flipping through some glossy magazines. Very nice. So, inspired, I came home and opened up a Homes and Gardens subscription. It'll make me unhappy as I have a major house/garden envy. But the beast needs to be fed....😳😂

@Huffalumps "Mmm that's a lot to read 😅. Do you get good wine deals from the world of fine wines?"

Not really, though the tasting notes are really good. It does a good job of articles on wines to buy en primeur and also tastings after a few years of bottle age.

It's more of an in depth wine quarterly. Lots of good wine writing, and more depth than in most other places. Good coverage of the wine auction market as well.

I'm thinking about doing my WSET Level 4 Diploma at some point and I think this is good background reading.

Oh interesting! What do you hope to do with the qualification? I feel like I missed a taster type of career. Mind you, since COVID my palate is shot so perhaps it's best my income stream isn't based on that 😅

@DaphneLaurel I use a mobile phone. I have an old phone that I call my Kindle Phone - I only use it to read on. Granted it doesn't get away from screen time, but it feels like a bit of downtime as I can't get distracted by emails, mindless scrolling etc

Not sure as yet. Already have Level 2 and 3, which were done for fun / personal interest rather than career. I'm now "early retired" (at <55) so can think about what I do next, and that might well be something to do with wine.

(OP - sorry for the thread derail!)
