I'm in Glasgow, there's plenty swearing here, "poor c**t" is a form of endearment, but there's a time and a place and a busy commuter train isn't the place, 2 old guys should know better

I'm visiting Edinburgh a few years ago I was eyeing a pack of Jaffa cakes a man was eating (discreetly, or so I thought) when he said, "do you want one, you c***?" I declined and was shocked. My DP who was nearby also assured me it was a term of endearment! 😳😂

edited to remove the actual c word. Apologies if I offended.

I swear probably more than I should've except when I'm out and about in public
(aside from every few weeks, when I was younger and unmedicated for PMDD)
..it can be jarring when you hear it from some people though, I agree.

I think it sometimes depends on the perpetrator in general and possibly even their accent!

As a woman, I actually like that word I don’t see it as it’s really shameful word I own that word. I think it’s a good word in lady Darcy‘s lover. It was in the describing what it was that’s why that book nearly got banned back in the day, but I don’t see it as that bad of a word I think women should own it and I don’t particularly mind people swearing. I swear a lot myself doesn’t mean to say I’m aggressive and this impression that the persons but it means that oh my God, you’re some sort of under class, not necessarily I think things are a bit more liberal now surely and it’s only a word unless people are being nasty

I dunno. A commuter train will likely have no children, and the people on it will be off duty. I think loud conversation on a commuter train when everyone just wants their half hour of peace is annoying but swearing wouldn't bother me at all (assuming it's used as punctuation, not directed at anyone).

There was kids on the train, schools are all off and the sales are on

Poor grammar annoys me more. And ageism.
