My teeth journey has been going on since before covid . With lots struggling to save. I have had all my teeth removed . It was decided I would have 4 implants on the top with clip on dentures . This is still in the process.

For my bottom it was decided I would have 2 implants and clip on denture. Which is now complete. But I have always had problems and I feel like the dentist is not listening.

When I first had the bottom implants they were in really tight . To the point I could not get them out and had to use a small dental tool to help. Some general adjustments were made due to sore spots etc. And suddenly they were really loose. This is not due to wear and tare as I was barely wearing them and dentist comfirned it's not wear and tare.

When I try and eat they just pop of really easy. I end up with teeth bouncing in my mouth whilst trying to eat its awful. I can't even feel a tiny bit of tension when I put them in or out. I was thinking maybe I needed tighter loops dentist has said no he does not want to do that .

So far dentist has said no to tighter loops he would want to add 2 more implants at the bottom... I honestly can't afford it. My income has changed drastically.

He's said to use denture glue ... then what was the point of the implants in the first place.

He's suggested not going ahead with upper implants just using the denture glue to hold in dentures and then having extra implants on the bottom.

The whole point if this was because I felt so ugly and my teeth were awful and I wanted to look normal and feel normal . I don't feel listened to and i feel like its all falling apart.

I cant change dentist because I have a massive fear and its taken me such a long time to get this far . Also I have already paid the money upfront. Apart from 1000 which I need to try and find.

In a nut shell I want tighter loops things in my 2 bottom implants. Then to go ahread with 4 implants on my top jaw as was first planned.

You can ask your dentist but they can say no. It may not be something technically possible or suitable for your mouth. There's loads of reasons why dentures can bounce around, 2 implants is the are minimum for an implant retained denture but it will probably rock. It depends on the system the dentist uses for retaining dentures and there may not be a more retentive clip.

You are being listened to but essentially you are asking for a treatment that may not exist, may not be suitable and what you really need which is likely more implants on the bottom and the top you can't really afford.

(If) that's the case though. He needs to explain that. He uses the words. He does not want to . He doesn't say that can't be done because of xyz

I totally get there would be some rocking but to come of altogether when eating and have absolutely no feeling on it being fixed to the implant at all seems wrong. They are doing nothing at all . Even if they are not 100% due to only being 2 but they should be doing something.

Is it you think there's something wrong with the denture? The best you can do if you think that its actually something wrong is to complain to the practice manager
