Would you eat cooked carrots and broccoli that were left out overnight?
I would nuke them in the microwave 😆

Yes,
Bubble and squeak?
Soup?
Pie filling?
Fried of with potatoes and egg ( that might just be my partner!)

ApparentlyRockBottomHasABasement · 26/12/2024 11:50

No, not if they weren’t refrigerated, and my kitchen is pretty cold.

slightlydistrac · 26/12/2024 11:55

I'd probably chop them up, put into a bag and then freeze, for making soup at another time.

Yes of course.

Doggymummar · 26/12/2024 11:57

Of course. Our fridge is packed to the gills with meat and cheese so all the veg is in snap lock boxes on the top

BellaVita · 26/12/2024 11:57

Yes

Ginkypig · 26/12/2024 12:02

I always put them in the fridge to be honest. I would be a bit worried about moist veg being left out growing bacteria. But proper reheating would maybe kill anything? Please don’t take my opinion as medically safe advice!

but ye I use them the next day. This year is Boxing Day leftover pie

three people who all like different parts of the leftovers so three separate pies with the leftovers they like in each one.

mine is everything except the meat yum yum!

Growlybear83 · 26/12/2024 12:03

I'd put the carrots in the soup and Chuck the broccoli out for the foxes, but only because I hate vegetables and forcing myself to eat sprouts and carrots on Christmas Day is bad enough, but I wouldn't do the same the next day 😆

TonTonMacoute · 26/12/2024 12:04

Yes. They are usually reheated in some form or another.

AdaColeman · 26/12/2024 13:07

Yes, they would all go into the Christmas minestrone!

Foxes like brocolli? Well, every day’s a school day 😁

Growlybear83 · 26/12/2024 13:23

@MrsSkylerWhite I've yet to find anything the foxes is my garden won't eat! 😆

MrsSkylerWhite · 26/12/2024 13:26

You’re very lucky they visit.

Aworldofmyown · 26/12/2024 14:13

I would love to put the veg out for the foxes, sadly I don't want to encourage my resident rat!!!
I think I may risk it, I'll cook it beyond any recognition to kill off bacteria 😂

I had exactly that for my lunch, zero special precautions were taken and all vegetables were fully recognisable afterwards

Seriously, you are way overthinking unless you somehow started with poisonous veg in the first place 😁

Nc546888 · 26/12/2024 14:20

Yes wouldn’t think twice about eating them. It’s veg not poultry or pork

SnoopySantaPaws · 26/12/2024 14:24

Yes, Boxing Day Bubble & squeak is one of the best parts of Christmas. Never enough space in the fridges for the leftover veg. Survived 55 years of it so far & still here!

Aworldofmyown · 26/12/2024 16:19

It was my husband that sowed the seeds of doubt.
