Squid games season 2! Not out till tomorrow but I'm watching the 1st season again in preparation. Never got into Gavin and Stacey so not excited about that. What is everyone excited about?

I'm assuming that The Great Escape will be on again, and with the number of times it has been on there can't be anyone left in that camp by now.

You've missed this year's rerun of the Great Escape! My husband watches it every year. I don't know why - he has the dialogue off by heart now.

UnstableEquilibrium · 25/12/2024 10:38

Strictly, Dr Who and Wallis and Grommit. My TV is going to do that passive-aggressive "are you still watching? You've left it showing the same channel for four hours straight, so unless you tell me otherwise I'm going to assume you've fallen asleep and turn myself off" thing that it does most Christmas Days.

CrispyK · 25/12/2024 10:39

Wallace & Gromit of course.

There’s a Here We Go Christmas special on iplayer if anyone likes that sort of silly cringy humour.

Outnumbered and call the midwife.

Anyone clever out there can tell me when they are on?

outnumbered boxing day 9 ish

angelopal · 25/12/2024 11:15

Worlds Strongest Man. Been a tv tradition for a few years now.

fairytailcat · 25/12/2024 11:23

The Split!

Cocolapew · 25/12/2024 11:25

Gavin And Stacey
Outnumbered
Some Like It Hot this afternoon.
Had a lovely afternoon watching Doris Day films on BBC 2 the other day.

Me too! Kids always used to love it set in exotic locations like Victoria Falls. Happy memories.

Uricon2 · 25/12/2024 12:40

The Mark Gatiss ghost thing Woman of Stone (BBC last night) I do think the title of the original E. Nesbit story (Man-size in Marble) takes some beating!

GameOfJones · 25/12/2024 12:44

Wallace and Gromit
Tiddler to watch with DDs
Call the Midwife
Dr Who
Outnumbered

I have never watched an episode of Gavin and Stacey as James Corden is an utter knob so I won't start watching it now.

StellaAndCrow · 25/12/2024 13:40

There's a documentary about the making of Inside No 9 on iPlayer - I'm going to watch that. And the Mark Gatiss ghost thing that Uricon mentioned.

I've just watched a Christmas episode of Bluey (A Christmas Swim) - captures family christmas very well . . .

Oh and a CBBC thing - The Primrose Railway Children, based on a story by Jacqueline Wilson.

Lottapianos · 25/12/2024 13:42

'There's a documentary about the making of Inside No 9 on iPlayer - I'm going to watch that.'

Watched it the other night, it was GREAT 👍

StellaAndCrow · 25/12/2024 13:44

Thanks Lotta, looking forward to it!

Oh yes and I'm going to continue watching Strike - Ink Black Heart, just started it.
And Black Doves, started it then saved it for when I need a fast engaging watch!

FizzyBisto · 25/12/2024 13:45

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/12/2024 10:17

Ditto!

Will watch Call the Midwife but I do feel it's about time they put it out of its misery now.

Will also watch the Beyond Paradise Christmas special, which I think is later this week. Cheesy but relaxing and cosy.

I'd agree with you about CTM - but as long as we keep watching it, even with mixed feelings, the BBC will assume that we keep earnestly wanting more!

Uricon2 · 25/12/2024 13:47

@StellaAndCrow yes, Ink Black Heart here too!

RedRobyn2021 · 25/12/2024 16:02

Toddler
Gavin & Stacey
Wallace & Gromit
Squid Game

muddyford · 25/12/2024 16:23

Outnumbered.

HumerousHumous · 25/12/2024 16:30

Wallace & Gromit
Call The Midwife
Eastenders. I'm a super fan, have watched from the very start. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but...!
Hoping The Railway Children (original one from 1970) will show but haven't spotted it yet.

ArtyFartyQueen · 25/12/2024 16:34

In particular, Doctor Who, Call the Midwife, All
Creatures Great and Small, Gavin and Stacey plus Festive pottery throwdown, First dates and doghouse Christmas specials

I thought I was the only person in the country (apart from my DP) who didn't give a fig about Gavin and Stacey! Honestly I think it's bloody awful and don't get the fuss at all

Looking forward to the Roger Moore doc on BBC2 at the same time. Going to start Black Doves too, that looks fun

Thank God I'm not the only one..I despair at the nation adoring this soap opera drivel. It's written by so called comedy writers (Ruth Jones and the awful James Corden, both narcissists) who should stick to doing comedy OTHER far wittier people write.

Misunderstanding a Welsh word as if it's English and making fun of it is playground comedy!

I don't care about any of these pathetic losers. I think the show is merely created to make other people feel better about their disappointing lives as I can't think of any other reason for the so-called "comedy."

Wallace and Gromit was also pants this year!! In his 60s now I think Nick Park is losing it thinking that this would appeal to adults.

Brough23 · 26/12/2024 08:54

Thevelvelletes · 25/12/2024 10:04

You're not I can't watch Gavin and Stacey as I detest James Corden.

Exactly. He's a classic narcissist.

Lottapianos · 26/12/2024 10:06

'Thank God I'm not the only one..I despair at the nation adoring this soap opera drivel.'

We ended up watching the last 5 minutes of it and both burst out laughing at how bloody AWFUL it was! It's like a parody of a comedy. Such a great cast absolutely wasted on utter dross

LOL. Agree wholeheartedly.
BBC sycophantically interview these two "star" writers as if they're geniuses. They certainly aren't. And the BBC should be embarrassed parading this like it's the best thing since sliced bread.
Good riddance.

Best not to watch "making" shows. Then when you watch normally you will be thinking "ooo I wonder how they did that set, was it harder than in the making of prog".
Well I would...
