If adverts were truthful and showed what it was really like to use their products, what would they actually be like?

National Lottery - instead of showing someone winning a £1,000,000, it would show loads and loads of people buying a ticket, checking the numbers and not winning at all.

Booking.Com - it would show someone researching, looking at reviews, endlessly filtering, doing more research and finally booking a place. After checking with the other people to see if they approved

I am sure people can think of some more.

Like the disgusting new Andrex ads, presumably. The only thing they don't show is an actual turd hitting the toilet bowl, but they've pretty much covered everything else.

Stuff aimed at old people (as I'm rapidly approaching it), like the riser recliner chairs, the young(ish) fit woman so OBVIOUSLY doesn't need one, likewise, the lift-in-your-home or bath equipment.

With PP about cars, perfume and washing powder.

Yes, absolutely this. I get that they will be wearing a swimming costume when getting into/out of the walk-in bath, as it's on TV; but why they have to show somebody decades younger than their key demographic who will mostly need the products makes no sense; and is surely nothing more than ageism.

Just like when they show dieting products or special clothes ranges aimed at very plus-sized people, they always use somebody who is maybe a tiny little bit bigger than average.
