Is there a way to hide someone else's photo on WhatsApp?

I've tried googling but it just tells me how to hide mine which is not what I asked.

I used to mute then got a shock when looking for a message off someone else that they had sent one. I also, when I archived them, felt I had to go looking in case which wasn't great. I think I did edit the details to take out their name but it still showed the photo.
