Hair washing advice (cut my head open)

Stupid idiot that I am, smacked the top of my head on the car boot (not realising it hadn't opened properly). Blood everywhere. DH took me to the minor injuries and it's now glued. The actual cut wasn't that wide, just deep. Anyway, I have blood all matted in my hair and I need to wash it tomorrow.

Any advice on what I can hold on it to stop it from getting wet tomorrow (he's going to help me wash my hair)? Sorry, this is such a ridiculous problem, and I didn't know where to post. TIA

Sorry, I don't think I was being very clear. I need to wash my hair but I can't get the glued part wet. Any ideas of what to hold on it to keep it dry?

Edited to add:
I've just had a look at what you posted and I now understand what it is, thanks that could work

The cap I suggested is to wash your hair not to keep your head dry, or are trying to keep just the cut dry? If so I've no idea, hopefully someone will be along soon.

@NotSorry sounds silly but it might help to use a watering can type thing with your head tipped back so water just trickles (I have done similar) or something that they use for kids hair washing so water doesn't get in their eyes like a sold headband and to keep it dry a waterproof dressing?

Dry shampoo instead? The Living Proof ones are expensive but way better than the cheaper stuff like Batiste.

I would probably try to wash it in the sink and just wash the ends, keeping your scalp with the glue away from the tap.

I wash my fringe in the sink every morning without wetting the rest of my hair. I just tie the rest of my hair out of the way, get some shampoo and rub it into my dry fringe, and then rinse it out under the tap. You could do the same and just the shampoo the matted bit and rinse it.

Cover your wound with a folded flannel and tilt your head back. DH washes your hair gently and away from your wound.

Thank you, thank you, ladies; I think the folded flannel and head tilted back is the easiest way. I must have hit my head quite hard because I couldn't think straight of how to do it 😂 I much appreciate all the replies.
