Santa has messed up and I feel bad

Could actually cry... please help me feel better. My ds wanted new football boots for Xmas, he is excited to get new ones and had picked ones that he wanted. Santa thought she was on the ball and ordered them ages ago and felt very cocky about it but the stupid idiot has ordered the wrong bloody ones and now they are sold out in his size Only noticed when I went to wrap them and took them out of the black delivery bag.

Please help me not feel so bad 😭

And this is why santa only brings the stocking fillers.

Twice now I've had to explain to my sons that I've made a mistake and bought the wrong thing. Far FAR easier than this mess you've got yourself in.

Your going to have to get him some different ones

🖕

Are you completely sure they’re the wrong size? I was caught out thinking Skechers didn’t have my size when I was looking for trainers recently and only afterwards realised that the boxes showed the US size, with the UK and European ones in tiny writing. I should take my reading glasses with me, I know.

Check amazon...quickly

Notquitegrownup2 · 23/12/2024 22:36

What @HidingFromDd said. I messed up one year and Santa sent a note. I was so worried but ds was incredibly proud of his note from Santa and easily distracted by chocolate/other presents/all the fun of the day . .

Best of luck

Two sizes too small. Why am I so stupid ?!?

I really think you need to go a bit easier on yourself. If you’re anything like the average mum, you’ll have been rushing around trying to make sure everyone has a brilliant Christmas with everything they wanted. Mistakes happen. It wasn’t intentional and it absolutely doesn’t mean that you’re stupid. It means you’re human and you’ve been doing a lot of stuff to make other people happy.

It will be fine. So they have to be exchanged when they’re back in stock? He might be a bit disappointed not to have them on the day, but if you blame the company selling them for sending the wrong size the day after last posting dates, he’ll never know and will still be really happy that he’s going to get them as soon as they’re back in stock.

I would go and get a killer present, something big like an air hockey table or something to distract from the boots. And then I would say that Santa doesnt bring boots as you need to try them on as they need to be specially fit to the foot and can only be ordered from the shop as the size might be wrong so you will take him early jan as a special treat. I take it he needs the boots anyway so it would be clothes budget rather than christmas budget. Tell him now, rather than at christmas day, say the elf popped round to have a chat with you

How old is he? Dont beat yourself up anyway... Santas only human- the elfs musta got muddled n sent the other boy ask for em a pair two sizes to big! . He still got what asked for, just a wee delay required. focus on the positive.

You're not alone! I went to build my kids bikes from Smyths 3 days ago, both were broken. Queue a blubbering pregnant woman running into Halfords begging for help, a worker (called Adam) bless him luckily managed to sort me out. It's one of them years love

Flowersonthetv · 23/12/2024 23:23

I would give them and write a note from Santa, I think one of naughty elves split some shrinking potion on these boots in the slay, I’m so sorry here’s some chocolate coins and please give this note to your parents with this code (make up a fake code) so they can go exchange these for a bigger size in one of your local shops. Next year I will try to be more careful.

mondaytosunday · 24/12/2024 00:21

@CalicoPusscat you're kidding, right? Football boots are like their identity and getting the wrong brand or colour and forget it!

I think I may be out of touch with the yoofs!

In my defence I'm middle aged 😆

Ah this is lovely and something that will become family legend

Gem359 · 24/12/2024 09:56

Are the ones you've bought 2 sizes too small or the ones he wants only available in 2 sizes too small? If the ones you've got are the right size then he might love them anyway and not care that they're the exact ones. If the ones you've got are the wrong ones and too small then tell him santa must have mixed his boots up with someone else's and you'll sort it out as soon as you can.
