Second C Section Recovery

Just wondering how you healed from a second c section? My first was nearly 5 years ago and healed to a near invisible line with no overhang. I did go back to pre baby weight first time around. I’m currently 5 months post partum with number two. They didn’t go through the same incision. It’s very close but I do have a double line above or below most of my original scar. Its much more pronounced this time around (still 9lbs off pre baby weight and aware I may never get back to my old weight and even if I do composition will likely have changed) Slight overhang but looks much redder and deeper, despite it being a second scar and not the same one cut.

Just curious to know if scars improved lots after the 5 month mark for people who have had a second c section. In all honesty I was expecting it to heal like my first or better. Given my first was a category 1 emergency with threat to both of our lives and this was a planned. But it definitely looks worse than my first section did at this point.

Had 3 sections 2 emergency 1 elective 9 weeks ago same scar for all. Was small size 10'before my first lost all my preg weight but have never been able to budge the small ledge above scar I hate it

Did you have the ledge after your first one?

My second was worse than the first. Definite scar. Shelf. No stomach muscles to speak of.

Silicone healing strips helped with my scar and might not be too late for you to try.

My first c-section was a thick, red, itchy keloid scar.

My second section, 15m later, they went through the same incision and removed the scar, but told me it might heal the same way. I used silicone strips and it healed much smoother.

3 years later I had a hysterectomy, in the same incision. Also used the strips. It's not perfect, but so much better than my original scar.

Yes I swear by these. I used them the first time too and they really helped. I don’t know if age or already having surgery in that area before is a factor but I was really hoping it would heal similarly this time! I guess there’s still time for improvement. It’s only just five months so not necessarily the final scar yet!

Would you say this is an overhang? Two of the images are standing up. One is laying down(where it’s barely visible) When laying down it looks great but standing up it’s so pronounced. Wondering if I just need to lose some more weight to make it look more similar to my lying down photo. I’m still around 9-10lbs overweight at the moment.
