Hi everyone,

Hope you're all good and content in the run up to Christmas.

My husband and I are visiting London soon. I've been to London before, but years ago, but my husband never did.

We only have a booking at Ottolenghi (I hope it's good!), but other than that... no plans!

What are your favorite places to eat, visit, shop?

Many thanks

Eat all the bread at Ottelengi, it's amazing. The rest I thought was a bit meh

you have 3 days; I suggest The National history Museum, Victoria and Albers Museum, Albert Hall, Hyde Park, Buckingham palace and public gardens, St Paul's Cathedral ...you can wander in many other cathedrals also, the main one is ticketed

You should do Borough Market if you can.

If you like art, see if you can get tickets for the Monet exhibition at the Courtauld (on until 19th Jan). I saw it today and it is magnificent. There is a lot of free art to see at the National Gallery and the Tate Modern too (and other places, the V&A is a great idea).

A walk from Waterloo station along the South Bank to the Tate Modern or the Globe is one of my favourite walks. Great views, lots of nice restaurants, shops and cafés on the way, and a bit less busy than the other side of the river.

I really like the Lookout on 8 Bishopsgate- It's free but it's best to book. The views of the city are brilliant and you can see all the landmarks from 50 floors up- Shard, Tower Bridge, St Pauls etc.

Covent Garden is a nice place to visit - plenty of shops, street entertainers and loads of good restaurants. The London Transport Museum is there too.

As a former London resident I’d always have been far too cool to recommend Covent Garden, but I had to go there last week and I was amazed at how good it is right now. The whole area is absolutely immaculate, it’s like the London characters wander round in romcoms – beautifully lit, lots of little corners and courtyards, good vibes everywhere. Definitely go. Hats off to whoever’s in charge of the general area, you’ve done a terrific job.

The Seven Dials bit in particular is really nice. They always have lovely Xmas lights.

I recently discovered the food and craft markets at Camden Lock- lovely things and half the price of the Apple Market!
