What's "diluting juice"?

Squash. It's called diluting juice in Scotland

ProssecoSparkle · 23/12/2024 09:18

Diluting juice is what we call squash in Scotland.

Thank you for the advice. I will put the Chocolate cake, crisps, nibbles out later in the evening.

I actually think a hot buffet is going to create more work for you than a standard sit-down turkey dinner. You need to be very aware of keeping things warm as nobody is going to want to sit down to cold sprouts and potatoes that have been sat on a table for a 😊 hour.

SorrowsPrayers · 23/12/2024 09:26

@ProssecoSparkle @berksandbeyond
Thank you both. A new one on me ( despite the fact I visit The Highlands twice a year!)

ProssecoSparkle · 23/12/2024 10:25

Still can't tag anyone 😕 SorrowsPrayers I rent out holiday homes in the Highlands ( I run an agency) let me know if you would like a link. Would pop some diluting Juice in for you 😉

Just put out what you and your family enjoy and sod everyone else, this sounds like crazy amounts of work for one days food

erm this is just her family. Op, husband, son and dil and a couple of very young kids.

Copperoliverbear · 24/12/2024 00:56

pitta bread, Doritos ( for the hummus)
Custard.

SorrowsPrayers · 24/12/2024 13:32

@ProssecoSparkle a link to holiday homes in The Highlands would be super! Thank you.

What a feast!
Do you want to spend so much time in the kitchen?

BobbyBiscuits · 24/12/2024 13:41

No roast potatoes? Also I love bread sauce. Just the packet mix one.

It seems like a lot of food. I would just serve some dips, crudités, crisps, sausage rolls, hummus, bean salad, bread sticks as snacks. (Before and/or after lunch)

Then the turkey dinner, one pudding and the cheeseboard after.

But if you're all big eaters then fair enough!

Sparkletastic · 24/12/2024 14:26

I'd just have a bit of a think about food safety and food waste. A roast lunch and then evening buffet would likely be the best plan.

Shakey2022 · 26/12/2024 00:36

How did your buffet go @ProssecoSparkle?
