How much? I know it's a how long is a piece of string question but I'm looking at roughly how much it would be for 3 kids and 2 adults? Flying from Birmingham/East Mids if possible. I can't work out if it would be like £5k or £15k or somewhere in between!

Went to Levi in the January 5 years ago, Paid around 4k for 2 adults 1 child.
Did it DIY though so fair bit cheaper. This was self catering and included pretty much everything- and we did a lot of trips/ excursions .
Was absolutely amazing, hope to go back one day. Only negative it was quite expensive to eat out.

Ah thanks that's great. I'm thinking around December time so is it insanely more expensive?

We did December 3 years ago 2 adults 2 kids 4 days £4500, definitely diy and you can go at your own pace enjoying the beautiful scenery. Saariselka is so pretty and we skied one day too

With a ‘proper’ company (like Canterbury travel) as in not diy, you’re looking at around 2k per night for a family of 5.

Babadook76 · 20/12/2024 23:17

And I envy people who have successfully done diy but the 3 years we’ve been, the people who went diy that were booked on our excursions had an absolute shit show. Last year I think there was something like some sort of travel strike. We flew in with no problems, but people who weren’t booked in with the packages ended up at another airport and had to take 12 hour night trains to where we were staying

From what I’ve looked at, I’d suggest 5 upwards!

2025 holidays are on sale from most of the travel agents now so you should be able to get an exact quote. DIY generally a bit less. Depends a bit on how flexible you are etc. Earlier looks to be cheaper, but lots of coverage this year of a lack of snow earlier in the season!

I went two years ago for 7 days over Christmas (the 21st to the 28th) with my husband and our two children.

We did everything ourselves rather than use package trips and it costs us just under £6’000.

This was for the flights, accommodation (a huge and beautiful cabin), all of our snow-wear, the car hire and 4 trips.

DIY is so much cheaper than package holidays.

We went twice last winter because we loved the first time so much.

in December we spent around £4k for three people for four nights. Did a night tour, snowmobile and SantaPark and village.

in February we spent £600 for two nights. Ryanair flights, Airbnb just out of town for northern lights, some skiing and Santa at the city office.

weirdly our daughter really enjoyed the second one. She was out of sorts the whole she was going to meet Santa. She definitely felt some weird pressure. the magic was still there in February when she saw him.

flights are currently under £100 return for January and February so we may go again.
