DHL parcel mystery- anyone else?

I recvied a dhl package. Addressed to my legal name. I asked family if they’d sent x,as presents etc, all said no. So opened it. It was flower vase. Basic, by a floral supply distributor. But parcel was only form DHL “e-commerce “. No sender inside. No identification other than my name and address and dhl tracking on it.

tried to call dhl, long queue, couldn’t get through and hung up. Given it had been sent to me, I just decided it was addressed to me and therefore mine. I actually thought it was a company that I had compliant with with sent it, to go with large bunch of flowers they’d sent 2 days early. Strange, weird but fine, a plain glass vase is always useful

this evening. Door bell. DHL at door to “collect “ a parcel. Definately legit dhl pass. Or so I think. I explained I wasn’t expecting them. No parcel to return. They were insistent. Then remembered vase. Asked if it was that. They didn’t know. I offered to hand it over minus packaging (which had gone to great bin lorry this morning 🤦‍♀️) but he wasn’t interested. He just said he’d contact office and went off.

Am I being scammed? It had my full legal name on package which is unusual as I don’t use on line ven for my own shopping. Just close family, government and financial stuff uses it. Hence why I thought it was maybe this complaint related company that have my legal name.

all very weird and a tadge worrying what is happening? Anyone shed light?

Might not be helpful but there was a segment about this one the morning live on bbc1 a few days ago, maybe a week or so.

It could possibly be a scam due to the name difference or maybe the driver was wrong. The topic covered was O2 contracts and iPhone orders though so not sure if they would go through so much hassle over a vase

Ok, thanks for that …not related to o2 or iPhone,

the vase will be about £15 in value I think.

I definitely wouldn't have given him anything because the parcel was addressed to you. If there had been a mixup DHL would've emailed you. I reckon you'll find out at some point who sent it.

It's quite worrying to think of a scammer coming to your house.
