I've accidentally ordered my 14 year old Christmas Pudding with Brandy Custard for a meal in a restaurant. (Not accidentally ordered, just didn't think).
Are they likely to be allowed to serve it to him, or do age restrictions apply?

Is your 14 year old christmas pudding still edible, brandy custard or not?

I was given liquer chocolates when I was 7 and they were absolutely minging. (Sorry). That would be a bigger concern to me than the alcohol content.

There are very forms of alcohol that I will say no to on principle, especially at this time of year, but liqueur chocolates are on my permanent minging list.

Just send your liqueur chocolates to me then!

There was a famous thread on here years ago about a Baileys Bombe dessert for Christmas Day. Because there was a child present, there were several “OMG you do know Baileys is booze?!” comments. Like they’re chucking a bucket of the stuff into each four quid dessert on the Iceland production line.

Thanks for this useful advice. I'm not there, it is a pre-order.

She meant contact them ffs.

Cakeandcardio · 17/12/2024 19:00

It's not an age restricted product when you buy it in the supermarket so I think it must not contain alcohol

ApocalypseNowt · 17/12/2024 19:00

I'm willing to experiment with how boozy it is. I'll start downing it now & will let you know when I start to feel pissed 👍

Ooo he’ll be pissed and dancing on the table before you know it!

no OP, he will be fine. It’s a non issue

Wow

HoppityBun · 17/12/2024 20:49

It’s most likely that he won’t like the taste. How much actual brandy do you think is in a portico of custard?

Spirallingdownwards · 17/12/2024 20:51

Please don't let him near the sherry trifle at grandma's!

At 14 he would probably prefer a vodka

Anoisagusaris · 17/12/2024 20:55

Oh for god’s sake, this is ridiculous. Are you seriously asking this question?

Thank you, that helped. I don't know why, but an elderly friend of the family gave me the liqueur chocolates when I was 7, but she also helpfully kissed me on the lips and gave me herpes. To this day, I don't know what she was thinking, if at all. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

The brandy custard is probably fine. Just don't kiss the waiter.
