I’m heading to Disneyland in February time…what do I need to be thinking about booking at this stage?

is booking restaurants really necessary?

i think we will give the character breakfast a miss, it’s so expensive

anything I definitely need to pack?

thanks

There are some helpful Facebook groups called things like Disneyland Paris tips for Brits

restaurants - there are quick service ones (fast food type thing) in the park and some others outside the park in the village that you don’t book, but if you want a sit down meal in the park or the Disney hotels you do need to book. It’s easy on the app and you can always cancel if you don’t need it in the end.

It can be freezing in Feb so pack lots of warm clothes, gloves, hat, heart warmers etc. Agree re character dining in the parks although in some of the hotels it can be better - are you staying in a DLP hotel? My biggest tips are always know when and where you’re going to eat - either with a sit down meal or decide in advance which fast food place, as the food does vary and the last thing you want it to be hungry, tired and lost while trying to find somewhere to eat. Also my other piece of advice on food is go on the early side eg 11.45am or 12pm for lunch. Everything takes a little while and within half an hour queues can be mega. It is nice to do at least one sit down meal per day as it gives you a chance to chill a bit. Remy and Cendrillion are the most popular (the latter being v expensive tho). Also can be worth looking for reservations the day before or morning of as people cancel.

Plenty of decent for a theme park fast food places, one did chicken in a basket and lasagna type thing.
I wouldn't bother with the hugely expensive ones.
Unless you're staying in main Disney hotel it's a great spot to just chill in, the main lobby and upstairs by the doors to the restaurant you can watch the characters coming and going.

How old is everyone who is going, and what do they want to do?

Are you going in a school holiday?

Get the app and watch it for queue times for at least 2 weeks so you get a feel for queue times for rides and try to get a feel for what is where.

6 and 7. No, we will be going mid week, I’m taking them out of school

It will be cold.

Yes you need to book restaurants.

If you are staying on site they have character meet and greets in the mornings.

The character breakfast was my kids favourite thing.

Don't bother with Chez Remy.

Newuser75 · 16/12/2024 08:06

We have been the last two February's.
Download the app onto your phone. Everything is on there.
There is a good Facebook group as already mentioned.
Take plenty of warm clothes.
Take plenty of snacks for the kids. The food is expensive and it will keep them
Occupied in the queues.
You don't have to book seats for the shows. Just get there in plenty of time and you will get a free seat!
Have a great time!!

You need to book the sit down restaurants. Realistically though, do you want 3 course meals, or things like pizza and McDonald's with that age children? We booked one, but the kids much preferred getting Micky shaped food elsewhere.

Everything is an assault on the senses, so if your children are sensitive to that, take ear defenders. If you are staying at one of the Disney hotels, you get the extra hour before anyone else is allowed in.

BnmLK · 16/12/2024 09:59

You don't need to book or pay for tickets for either of the shows - Mickey and the Magician in Studios or Lion King in the main park - you just need to queue about 15 mins beforehand.

If you want the Mickey shaped pizzas you can get them at Hakuna Matata in Frontierland or Pizzeria Bella Notte in Fantasyland. Either marghertia or pepperoni I think.

It's worth having the app so you can monitor ride times and check locations and times for Meet and Greets.

Take a power bank for your phone. The cold drains the battery and you'll be using it so much for taking photos, videos, and using the app.

PomandersandRedRibbon · 16/12/2024 11:21

As pp have said it's cold. It's weird because just on the edge is warmer than in the park it's in a peculiar cold depression

Forgottenmyphone · 16/12/2024 11:22

Use the mobile ordering system for food www.disneylandparis.com/en-gb/dining/mobile-order/

Floralnomad · 16/12/2024 11:26

Unless you want a sit down meal don’t bother booking . Cowboy cookout does chicken , sausage , ribs , chips and is takeaway , Casey Corner for hotdogs , Hyperion cafe for burgers . The restaurants in the Village like Annette’s diner , 5 guys and rainforest cafe are no booking anyway . It can be extremely cold so lots of layers . There are also quite a few rides closed in Feb 25 so if you’ve not already committed it may be worth checking .

Forgottenmyphone · 16/12/2024 11:31

If you're going to queue to meet the characters get an autograph book and own before you go, Etsy probably have some cute ones. When we went last year it's was €15 euros for the book.
They have water fountains throughout where you can fill up your water bottles for free, but if your dc aren’t a fan of plain water get the small squeeze bottles of ultra concentrated juice to take in with you

Hollyhollyberry · 16/12/2024 11:36

I would book a character breakfast at 8.15 in the park (I think it’s garden something). Only because it’s the only place open and people are allowed in for that restaurant only. The photo opportunities down Main Street and castle are amazing (it’s pretty much empty)

BnmLK · 16/12/2024 20:44

Only book the 8:15 character breakfast if you're staying in a Disney hotel (Santa Fe, Seqoiua Lodge etc) otherwise they won't let you in.
