How many days out and activities do you do with dc?

Can you do too much do you think?

Yes you can do too many - children need down time to relax, be creative and have to 'free play'. This is really good for them. Over stimulation and no freedom to choose their own activities is terrible for mental health and development of cognitive functions.

What does a 'day out' or 'activity' mean as well? A simple walk or bike to the park is fabulous - it does not have to be a paid 'attraction' or activity. Spending time with children of same or different ages is also great, not just reliant on adult led or adult overseen activity.

You need to be clearer with what activities and days out you mean.

I suppose I mean paid for?

More information needed. Ages of children, how many days they just play indoors, in a garden, go to park, etc which are 'free', and how many are 'paid' activities, from free attractions, to sports clubs, music lessons, or specific paid for actvities.

In my view there is a balance. We know the wider the experiences our children have, the more they can learn. BUT, so many 'activities' now are adult directed, fixed timetabled etc. And that self exploration, free play, creativity, choice is vital for children's development.

I would also say, most paid activities are not for the benefit of your children. They are to pay someones wages.

Do you mean over the Christmas period, or generally through the year?

I meant for the run up to Christmas. I forgot to put it in the title.

I do one big one that's a full day and quite expensive (changes every year). Then a panto. Then a few parties related to Rainbows, hobbies etc. a light switch on. Driving about looking at fancy houses maybe once or twice. That's about average in my circle.
I think you can absolutely do too much, my DC are happy at home some days doing Christmas craft, watching Christmas movies etc.
