What's everyone cooking for Christmas Eve?

I have European guests staying with me on the 24th and the 25th. The 25th is easy enough because we'll just do a traditional English Christmas dinner. What can I make the 24th which is when they'd celebrate if back at home?

Do they usually have fish Christmas Eve? I know that's common in a lot of European countries.
You could do a nice salmon side

If your guests are Italian, spaghetti with clams will make them feel right at home. Typical traditional dish for the 24th

2 Italians and 2 Spanish
I am weary of trying to recreate anything they might have in their countries as the product we can get here just isn't comparable.

Fish or seafood would be pretty common in both cultures so I would probably stick to that. Last year I did salmon with Guinness bread and Kerrygold butter for a group of Italian friends and it went down really well.

Definitely fish for the Italians. It's usually several courses all with fish so if you don't want to attempt Italian cooking what about English fish dishes? A prawn cocktail, Smoked salmon tartar or smoked salmon pate starter followed by fish pie or Haddock mornay or something like that?

I usually get fish and chips from our (excellent) local chippy. Just a thought!

We're having fish pie. It's our Christmas Eve tradition.
