Have no idea of even a ball park figure for a new bathroom.
id like all new wall and floor tiles and whole new bathroom suite.
happy enough with the position of everything just needs replaced. Possibly would think of getting rid of the bath but maybe not. At minute shower is over the bath just
its a very small bathroom.
any help would be much appreciated.
thanks!

Wow at the prices suggested!

My tiny shower room was done 16 years ago, new loo, pedestal basin, small towel rail and 75cm square plain glass shower cubicle with a hinged door. Vinyl floor covering over existing floorboards, tiles on three walls, one of which has the door so only half that wall really. Painted the ceiling and fitted a new ceiling light which I supplied. The old shower had leaked and brought a chunk of the kitchen ceiling down. I was having chemo following a mastectomy and my ex kindly offered to pay.

It was done by my DD’s friend’s FIL, he charged £8500 and it’s an absolutely rubbish job.

Agree regarding horror stories also keep track of timings & money you have paid keep screenshots of text communications. Our bathroom guys were great, the plaster was not when he came back for a different job damaged my floor called me a cunt offered to punch me in the face for pointing out the damage to the floor would need 'addressing' so do choose carefully

We paid £7k in the SE last year for a small bathroom with no moving of anything so no pipes or anything needed to be moved. Just new stuff (toilet, sink, bath, towel rail etc), new floor, half tiled, and painting.

I managed a fab bathroom for just over 5,000
but got discount on suite etc
and a great deal on really fabulous tiles high-end designer because been dis continued if you shop really well don’t let the plumber supply the stuff get it yourself. Sales are coming up. It’s doable for a lot less than you think. Don’t underestimate the labour cost so I’ll get a price for labour only and you supply
I do have various trade accounts that helped, but it’s perfectly doable if you shop around

But if you are shopping around, everything needs to be at your house good to go for your fitter

Earlier this year just cost me bit less than £10k with all gutting (of existing tiles, window sill etc ) and full retile. It was roughly half fixtures and half fitting

I was tempted with the wall panels but was told they get damaged easily, no idea if that’s true or not

This! I did get the fixtures and fitting done by the same bathroom firm so prob paid slightly over the odds

felt it however worth it though when I changed my mind to keep boiler not electric shower, the extractor fan needed changing to different type etc, etc. it was all sorted out for me between them. That’s worth a bit more for me personally

Maybe, DrewPeadrawers, but I've had firsthand experience with this company - spent £24,500.00, almost two years ago with them, and my kitchen is falling off the walls in places, we had to ban the fitter from entering our property, the electrics have been classified as highly dangerous, and my utility room is still bate. Wickes have offered just a few hundred pounds in compensation, or their fitter will come and make good. We've had three other companies round, and they refuse to take on the project because of the shoddy workmanship. We'll be taking them to court to get our money back. Their customer service is non existent sadly, once they have your money. I can only speak as I find ... but would hate anyone to go through what we have. To err is human ... but they should correct their mistakes.

Just done ours for about 5.5k but we ripped out everything ourselves and paid all the trades separately. Chose expensive tiles, tiler was the most expensive trade. If we'd had one company do it all I reckon it would have been 7-8k. Small bathroom and kept the bath.

You really don't need to spend £10k on a tiny bathroom if nothing needs moving 😂
Have a look at plumbing world online, measure up and order what you need then ask a plumber for a price to fit the suite. As PP said, consider panels for the walls as will be cheaper to fit. Consider vinyl flooring and speak to a flooring fitter to do that part.
My dd replaced the various components in her bathroom and spent less than £1500 altogether.

mistification · 10/12/2024 20:02

Disclaimer* she didn't choose anything expensive - just wanted a basic white suite and did the painting herself.

Wheelyfast · 10/12/2024 20:05

We have in one bathroom a vinyl that is no lino & not branded kardean it's great, a floor fitter suggested it is glued in place solid under foot and easy to clean

mondaytosunday · 10/12/2024 20:33

£5-10k depending on materials (you could spend thousands on tiles alone). If repositioning things that can add.
