Can someone help me make sense of my daughters blood pressure readings please?

Readings are:

sitting: 75/50 - pulse 70
sitting: 85/62 (2nd attempt) - pulse 91
standing: 79/65 - pulse 100

DD is 11. Are these within the normal range? Have tried Googling but got confused so would be really grateful if anyone can interpret these, if possible.

Why are you taking her blood pressure at 11?
Seems like she is getting more anxious with every reading to me...

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 09/12/2024 21:48

It should be somewhere around 100-120 / 60-80

Are you using an adult sized cuff on a child?

So if anything a little low, but it can be if someone is quite fit, or sleepy

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 09/12/2024 21:50

Some very good questions from PPs about motivation and if you're using the correct equipment

DeepShark · 09/12/2024 21:50

I’m not taking her blood pressure. This is on her medical report from a recent appointment.

It would have been a child size cuff.

The only person who can tell you is the clinician who was examining/treating her for presumably something that had the potential to affect her blood pressure

DeepShark · 09/12/2024 21:53

My DD has some health issues and we are trying to get to the bottom of it. We have seen many doctors. I just want to make sure I understand their findings so that I can best advocate for her.

It's all relative without her height nobody can actually say if they are normal range or not.

I understand what you are saying, but some things have been missed in my daughters care so I think it’s important I read and make sense of their findings so I can ask the right questions to ensure she gets the best care.

Something simple like dehydration can cause low blood pressure and slight tachycardia, it's really best to leave it to the doctor who will have the full context of her other health issues

Thank you. I hadn’t realised it was linked to height.

It's a bit on the low side but could be normal for her.
I have lower end BP always have it's now even lower but I was diagnosed with POTS (postural tachycardia syndrome) and long covid by my clinical team and many years chasing!
