Mysterious Drones flying over New Jersey and other places including the UK.

What to make of this?

Apparently military grade drones have been spotted flying around the New Jersey skies at night in a decidedly unstealthy fashion.

Also reports have come in from the UK and Europe that similar craft have been observed in the airspace above military bases.

Are they trying out new kit in preparation for world war three? Is the Russians? Is it aliens? Is it too many beers on the back porch?

It seems that the New Jersey drones knocked it off on the day of Thanksgiving, which suggests to me that they were US military in origin.

Unless that's exactly what that dastardly Putin would want us to think, Captain Blackadder!

Or the aliens come in peace and stopped invading for a day as a mark of respect for local traditions.

Can't someone send up a drone to look?
Is this the so called French bed bug scandal before the Olympics?

Hi..

Also seen reference to "orbs"..

Yes likewise, not sure what people say they are seeing naked eye but the images of orbs I’ve seen in some the media look very like defocused lights to me.

This is one you can do at home - If you take something like a pair of binoculars or a camera with a zoom, focus on a bright point light source, e.g. distant street light, distant headlight, or the planet Venus (BTW that’s bright, high in the SW at sunset ATM so another candidate) then deliberately put the binoculars out of focus or the autofocus drifts slightly you might see the effect.

If you take a moving image rather than a still you can often get an added shimmering/rippling effect due to turbulence in the atmosphere.

I don't disagree with you at all.

There's no doubt that people are seeing "something" and I realise the hype means a proportion of sightings will be misinterpreted natural / man made phenomena. And with all the technology we have at our fingertips, a further proportion could be fake.

Whatever is going on is rattling people, and I've seen a few threads on other forums comparing this to the run up to the official acknowledgement of Covid, which I feel is a valid comparison.

For the record, I've always said the end of the world might well be collective nervous breakdown, as we have so many real world issues, plus all the "progress" and virtual fads and fashions too.

I'm just sitting here, observing, and wondering what the hell we've done to ourselves as a species. And my faith in any sort of authority figures to provide a voice of reason or solutions is long gone, due to age and experience.

As I have been known to say (thanks Blur), "I'm a professional cynic, but my hearts not in it" - lol.

my faith in any sort of authority figures to provide a voice of reason or solutions is long gone, due to age and experience.

On this subject I'm honestly think many politicians have an interest in perpetuating the story or are scared witless of the consequences of going against the majority/popular view..

Many in the media seem to have best ceased performing any form of balancing analysis or trying to offer any contrary POV...it's publish/broadcast and be damned, just think of the ratings.

Just been catching up a bit with YouTube - and the end times Christians are bringing demonic entities to the table. And this is why I really think the US government needs to get a grip on this. Unless of course it suits some ridiculous agenda. Which of course sounds like conspiracy theory territory.

Psychologically this could be a recipe for disaster for a large number of people.

Or it could all fizzle out like most of these things.

What a time to be alive.

Again, in agreement.

None of it makes much sense at this point.

So apparently people think now that the drones may be searching for some radioactive material that has gone missing which would explain why the government doesn't want people to know what they're up to!

MistressoftheDarkSide · 17/12/2024 13:15

Yes, and opinion is bitterly divided on that theory.

People are asking why they only seem to be looking at night, and whether the tech to do it is bona fide.

Also, if this was the case, why did drone activity interfere with the Wright Patterson air force base? Surely if it was a military op they would have at least shared that with the top brass ?

I honestly don't know what to make of it all, but it doesn't seem to be dying down at the moment.

I reckon it will have died down by AM 20 Jan, if not before...
