My ex has DC the same 2 nights every week and one weekend a month. That's not 50 50 is it?

Of course it's not 50/50

JustAFear · 09/12/2024 06:59

No of course not.

No of course it's not. That's what, an absolute maximum of 140 nights a year. Which isn't anything like 50% of the time.

Suzi9989 · 09/12/2024 06:59

Of course it isn't. Just say you will do the same and see their reaction.

YSianiFlewog · 09/12/2024 07:00

It's 35% of the year so not 50:50 at all.

Daschund · 09/12/2024 07:00

Probably only in the mind of an NRP wanting to avoid child support...

If its 2 nights a week and an extra 2 nights once a month.

SushiSheep · 09/12/2024 07:03

Well to really simplify

2 nights x 4 = 8
1 weekend x 1 = 2

So total is 10 nights out of (on average) 30.

So he's having them one third of the time.
What world does he live in that one third = one half?

😒

Yes, on the weekend it may be just 1 night.

Nineandtwenty · 09/12/2024 07:05

Well no because you can't just change the laws of maths. That's all there is to it, it's mathematically incorrect.

Blueybingobanditchilli · 09/12/2024 07:08

Two nights a week plus an extra two nights once a month is 35% of the year.

CheeseTime · 09/12/2024 07:14

He’s nearly 8 weeks short every year so if he covers all the schools holidays and two of the other weeks he’s grand. Does he do any extra in the school holidays?

ChristmasWitchy · 09/12/2024 07:18

He tends to do 2 weeks in the summer and the equivalent of a week at Xmas.

So he's trying to not pay you any child maintenance and not do 50/50.

Does he pick them/drop them to from school on his weekday nights?

Because 50/50 should mean 50/50 of everything, holidays, medical appointments, sick days, homework.

This is how men, usually men, can keep working and earning well because they manipulate situations and it means women can't move forward with their jobs and career.

Get an excellent solicitor and take him back to court OP. You need to.

Ineffable23 · 09/12/2024 07:25

So he probably does 2 nights a week as the baseline, plus an extra 24 (the weekends - unless they are 1 night?) plus an extra 5 at Christmas and an extra 8-10 in the summer, so 37-39 in total. So 2.75 nights a week on average?

ChristmasWitchy · 09/12/2024 07:27

Yes

Velvian · 09/12/2024 07:37

That sounds like 3 nights out of 14 to me. Not sure how he makes that 50/50.

I make it 5 in 14

Babyghirl · 09/12/2024 07:47

If it was 50/50 it would be one week off/on or 4 nights one week and 3 the next, tell him to take up maths in college again.

Porcuporpoise · 09/12/2024 07:48

So with the time at Christmas and in the summer he does more than a third and less than a half. So maintenance is still owing but probably not a huge amount.

arethereanyleftatall · 09/12/2024 07:54

Why do you need to ask if 0.35 is 0.5?

It's not a subjective question, it's very simple maths.

How does he do more than a third?

X2 nights a week and one weekend a month.

So 10 out of 30, assuming he does pick up and drop offs at school, that's just about a third unless there are x5 weekends in a month.

And x3 out of x13 weeks of school holiday, not a third.

So it's not quite a third.

Elektra1 · 09/12/2024 08:11

Perhaps the poor fellow's not very good at maths?! Just put a claim through CSA and let them explain it to him.
