Scrambled eggs

How long do you beat the eggs for?

I was watching a TV booking show and they were making some scrambled eggs or omelette and the eggs were beaten by hand for ages. I wasn't counting. I know others too who spend the guts of 5 or 10 minutes just beating eggs with a fork.

I only beat them until the yellow and white is mixed. I don't beat them for minutes.

I am just wondering how long do you beat eggs for?

Crack them in a bowl, whisk with a fork for a few seconds until they're all mushed up together (culinary term!), put bowl in microwave for 1m 50s (2 eggs). Remove, dollop on buttered margarined toast and add Worcestershire Sauce and black pepper. Or, if you're feeling fancy, add chopped chives before you put them in the microwave.

At least 2 minutes. They're revolting if the whites and yolks aren't completely amalgamated.

I'm wondering why nobody has mentioned at which point they add th cheese yet 🤔

Grrr... hate these cafes where they add milk, or worse, cream to scrambled eggs to make them more "up market", I suppose. No, you've just given me slop on toast.

Melt a knob of butter in a saucepan, add two or three eggs, stir slowly with a wooden spoon until the eggs are fluffy and cooked through. Takes about a minute. Serve immediately on buttered toast. Add salt and pepper to taste. That'll be £4.50 please. Ta.

Fanny Cradock reckoned she had 500 egg recipes. I just want my eggs to be soft and moist like Fanny's...

Even if they are soft and moist, like Fanny’s, there are ways and means to ensure they do not get fertilised during the scrambling process. 😀

Because cheese is disgusting 🤢 and at the point you add it (like a weirdo) it's not scrambled eggs, it's scrambled eggs with cheese 🤷🏼‍♀️

grilled on the toast, prior to putting the egg on top!

Arrgh! stir with a fork only??Nooo!!

Whisk briskly (with a wee switch whisk) at least 60 seconds then SIEVE into the (buttered) pan - no white stringy, flecky bits. Cook very gently for smooth silky eggs.

Oh I put milk in mine to make them more fluffy and beat until everything mixed.

I also add a bit of milk or cream (whatever is in sight) and beat then after but no more then 30 seconds.
Will try adding them straight to the pan without beating next time. I’m not a big fan, mostly do them for DD if she needs super quick lunch.
