Disneyland Paris tips?

I am looking at trying to book a Disneyland Paris trip for the October break next year. We have had a rough year and it would be lovely to give the kids something to look forward to.

Any tips for Disney on a budget? Hotel recommendations would be great.. especially hotels that have appartments suitable for tweens who are not quite old enough for their own hotel rooms but don’t want to share with the little ones.

also travel advice would be useful- don’t know whether flying or Eurostar would be better

We went years ago and it was expensive even then. We did Eurostar to the resort but I think you have to change at Paris now. We stayed in a spacious hotel room. The food at the park was expensive but we had breakfast at the hotel and a proper sit down dinner was better value than the theme type places. We also bought fast pass tickets. The shuttles ran all day until the park closed. We stayed late one night for the parade.

But one of my friends stayed in the cabins further out but still on the park and that was cheaper.

It was a brilliant holiday!

We've done it a couple of times staying at Davey Crockett, lots of space for the kids, there's a little pool on the resort, there are often deals on it via WDTC. You do need to drive though.

If you are on a budget have you thought about Efteling in The Netherlands, about the same size as DLP, equally magical but much cheaper and with much nicer onsite accomodation. We have done both and had a lovely time both times but Efteling was a bit nicer and definitely better value.

Thanks! How long would you say to go? Is 2 days in the parks enough?

I’ve had a little look at Davey Crockett- is it self catering?

Yes, they are similar to a static caravan.

And yes 2 days is fine.

We did three nights and four days (although was really 2.5 days by time we arrived and then we left early on last day) and stayed on site at Cheyenne hotel

If you can I would stay on site.
Don't take the shuttles, walking from hotel to parks is just as quick and shuttles are everyone for themselves and pushing and crowded
Take your own water bottle and little diluted juice things, lots of water in park
Book reserved area for fireworks if you can
If you want Princesses book the lunch or breakfast. An individual Princess meet takes about 240 mins Que time and you don't know which Princess whereas the lunch you get 3/4 and they all come interact at table for ages

If flying book a private transfer if you can budget it in. Takes a lot of stress off and they play Disney movies on tv screen during the travel.

October is great at the villains walk around and you get lots of interactions.
Buy any dress up outfits before you go out as they are expensive there
Pack lots of breakfast bar type things and take with you
If young children take a buggy. Even if you think they don't need it, it will save so much!

Thank you all! I’m thinking davey crockett and self drive. It’s really not much extra to stay 4 nights and get 3 days in the parks.. worth doing?

We did 3 nights 4 days which was plenty of time. We got there in the afternoon of the first day and did a bit but I collapsed before the parade. We did a train to Waterloo (it's now Kings Cross I think) and then Waterloo to the park which was quite easy.

The second day we went to the second park as soon as it opened (to go on Aerosmith really) and then back to the main park before the gates opened the last day. The parade was amazing!

But the fast tickets were a godsend as there wasn't too much queuing for rides. Some of the restaurants had characters milling about.

I think Davy Crockett is quite far out but the shuttles are really good if packed. I just drummed it into my DS that if we got separated as people push in front of you to get on at the main point (the park entrance or our hotel) and wait. If you are driving you can always take things for breakfast and little snacks.
