Facial hair, what to do?

I don't want a beard, even it if might suit me. So am wondering of you lovely ladies might assist me in figuring this problem out.

Years ago i had a few stray chin hairs, and made the mistake of cutting them down with scissors. I obviously caught unseen hairs too so a bristle fest ensued.
Since then the only way of quickly getting shut of regrowth has been a razor, which you can imagine isn't great.

Is there a device or thing that can solve this? I appreciate that I am stuck with them for life, but wondered if, apart from an expensive pile of bollox, there's a simple way to maintain.

The only good thing is that I am very blonde, so since I am as pale as caspar, it doesn't stick out so much, but in a certain light....

Waxing?

@CatbellsOnTheSeashore I have this issue! Miserable, got to plucking daily and if I missed a day I would have stubble :( I'm halfway through laser treatment, they said it'll work (even on blonde hair - mine are
mixed). I can't say I see much difference yet but I am happy to report back in a few months when I am done (hopefully!!)

@herbygarden I have a very similar situation developing my end… Was laser successful? Hoping this may be the way forward but unsure of timescales, and what to do in the meantime...argh!

@itsreal sorry to say I am nearing the end of the treatment and it appears to have been pretty rubbish, still daily regrowth. I am not impressed, a couple of sessions left then I will have to see what to do! Will update if by some miracle it finally works but I doubt it....

I've had electrolysis a few times a year, a lot initially but now rarely, for over 20 years. Maybe some laser?

itsreal · 12/05/2025 09:33

Thank you...there's got to be some way of getting rid of them... Hoping there's something better than daily plucking..

Laser only works on dark hair (it’s something to do with the melanin). So save your money if your hair is either blonde or grey.

i feel your pain, Im a hairy girl too.

Most of my facial hair is very dark, so i have had some success with laser. You can’t have laser treatment during the summer months, so I bought a Flawless Touch from Boots (£20) which I whizz over chin and lip every few days. Keeps things in check and very convenient.

Electrolysis. Works well.

I had electrolysis. It took about 18 months before they finally stopped growing back.

Can I ask how frequent your sessions were please, and how you managed between sessions @AnnaQuayInTheUk? Good to know it worked for you!
