It's really hard with kids. What are your best tips to minimise things u do in the house?

Routines! Written down if necessary and on a door somewhere. Big family sized calendar in the kitchen.

If you can afford it, outsource - cleaning/laundry/DIY.

Online grocery shopping/meal boxes like Gousto. I normally get mostly the same bits every week so I can carry across my previous shop to my basket.

Get kids involved as much as possible. Regular, expected chores that play to their strengths and ages - DS is 5 but can carry the laundry basket from the bathroom to the utility room when it gets full, for example.

Box of healthy, long life snacks and drinks in the back of the car so I don't have to remember to pack any for after school/clubs and bonus nothing gets wasted if he's not hungry.

All birthday gifts and cards for DS friends are bought as and when I see stuff on a deal and get thrown in a generic birthday box. No shopping for individual gifts!

Buy double/triple everything consumable for the house so you run out less. Less random trips to the shop for toothpaste!

Notes app on my phone for things I need to buy and do - just one list. If I think of something, I add it to the list and wait til I have time to deal with it mentally rather than have it floating in the back of my mind. I try and look at it every morning.

This feels a bit vague but here's an attempt.

Lower standards. vacuuming, even with the robot, doesn't happen nearly as often as I would prefer.

I do my best to stay on top of washing so it doesn't pile up (remembers there's a load that needs hanging up as I type).

Meal plan. Tedious as hell, but really does hep with shopping and meal preparation and hugely reduces the daily mental load.

Buying a bigger fridge and a small second fridge changed my life - allows me to do shopping once a week with almost no need for any top up shopping.

Make sure your OH is doing his bit. In particular, split the load in terms of responsibilities so you don't have to direct tasks.

Get a cleaner. Our is only fortnightly, but it's a game changer.
