So this is what my life has become...

I'm 42 and peri. I am constantly sweating while WFH. My home is not hot. In fact I'm often cold, but I continue to sweat while I WFH in my stressful job.

Today I had enough of the sweating and finally found a use for those annoying ribbons they sew in the shoulders of most clothing these days.

So this is what my life has come to now. Dangling panty liners attached to the ribbons in my jumper so I can shove them under my pits to absorb the sweat. At least I can be confident that they won't fall out of my shirt and onto the floor in front of the delivery man when he hands me my packages. Confused

At 42 I can't help but feel it's only downwards from here. Sad

So this is what my life has become...

This is like a Viz 'top tip' Xmas Grin

I admire your ingenuity. I also like your jumper.

Have you considered Botox for excessive sweating?

MidnightPatrol · 04/12/2024 21:41

Have you been to speak to the GP?

DoYouAlwaysHaveToSayThat · 04/12/2024 21:41

Sympathies. I went through years of all that, and eventually my periods ended when I was almost 60. Have you had a blood test for Hyperthyroidism?

Gabitule · 04/12/2024 21:41

Warm Hugs. I’m 43 and not peri yet but dreading it so so much!

LOL, thanks Grin

I did try to stick the panty liners directly to the pits inside the jumper first. It's quite baggy so they didn't end up sitting where I needed them to.

I don't think I'm at the point where I need Botox. My sweating is really only when I'm WFH and stressed - which is most days this time of year.

Genius OP 😂

Brilliant!
I have a laptop fan. Mainly because Im an old peri woman, but it works wonders too.

Oh my goodness! I did not know such a thing existed. We've put our large fan in storage and it would often make me too cold anyway.

Going to look up laptop fans now!

I don't understand why you're wearing a sweater when you're sweating. Surely it makes sense to wear lighter clothing.

I'm through the menopause now and miss not feeling the cold.

PeakSheep · 04/12/2024 23:50

I don't feel the cold this year and actually enjoy getting into a cold bed as it feels lovely.

I'm saving loads on the heating 😉

Pmsl at 'viz top tip'!

But sorry you're feeling rubbish op. I can't help but think you could patent this and buy some great fans with the proceeds... might need a little refining!

dudsville · 04/12/2024 23:54

I remember veering between cold and hot flushes, it's a tough time. Your solution reminds me of an advert I saw for 1950s era women for sweat pads for the underarms.

Itsannamay · 04/12/2024 23:56

Great invention!

That looks like a sweaty jumper, tho, what is it made of?

Lentilweaver · 04/12/2024 23:58

Are you on HRT?
