Would someone look at my TSH result please

I've attached my results from the NHS app. I have an underactive thyroid for which I take 100 micrograms of levothyroxine daily. It was a routine blood test to check my levels. I've been on this dose for a couple of years, haven't had thyroid cancer or hypopit, whatever that is.

It looks like my result is below the normal range but the doctor has marked it as no further action required? I'd be very grateful if someone could explain or advise why that might be.

I've also attached my T4 result which is normal.

Hello, I don't think having low TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) is a problem really. It just means your body isn't having to work hard at all to make thyroid hormone because you are well medicated.

Your T4 is high enough that you could take less thyroxine and probably still be within the reference range (which would increase your TSH).

But if you feel well, low TSH isn't problematic - that's why your doctor has marked it as being ok.

I have Hashimotos and my TSH needs to stay a bit lower than the normal recommended range for someone who hasn't got Hashimotos and is not on Levothyroxine. If it comes closer into the normal range I get fatigue and aches.

I don't know if that's Hashimotos specific or for anyone on Levothyroxine for low thyroid for other reasons, but as long as you aren't getting symptoms of hyper thyroid don't worry too much - but ask your GP of course.

It also depends when you take your medication - I always book my thyroid blood tests for first thing in the morning and don't take the levothyroxine.till afterwards, so each test is comparing like with like.

Thank you @Letstheriveranswer, that's a good point about when you take your medicine. I will try to remember that next time I get tested!
