Just got my first Air Fryer - what are the 2 or 3 most useful things to have, especially to help keep it clean and make life easy?

Just that really - bought the basic small Ninja in the sale and going to start using it tomorrow...

Are there some obvious things I should get? Especially so we don't have to spend hours cleaning it. A friend mentioned liners???

Anything else you would highly recommend getting? I think we'll use it lots over Xmas with DC here

We bought the silicon baskets for our one and they do work and easy to clean up afterwards.
The air fryer frozen chips are worth a try , although you can do any frozen chips in them.
They came out really well.
We found it as trial and error with some things, chicken came out well.

I started off using the baskets, but I found some things were soggy on the bottom using them because the air wasn't flowing under them. I could obviously turn the food half way, but I usually forget.

But if you do cook something in yours that gets really stuck on, I've found half a dishwasher tablet and pour over boiling water, leave overnight and it comes off so easily. Don't run your air fryer while full of soapy water. I've seen that one as a hack somewhere but it's not recommended.

thanks - great tips! Going to buy silicon basket and experiment... yes, I can see it would counteract the crisping up !

I used the disposable greaseproof liners and use two at a time. They keep it cleaner. You just throw them away after each thing you cook.

I'm a newbie too. Turned it on first time yesterday. I feel like I am going to need to pull it out so the cupboards above don't get heat damaged which I didn't realise, so I have ordered a heat proof mat that it can slide forward on, and some heat protection for the underside of the cupboards for the inevitable time someone else forgets to pull it forward.

I've got a Ninja and it's non-stick so really easy to clean - I put the grill plate and the drawer straight into the dishwasher and then squirt a bit of kitchen cleaner into the vestibule and give it a once over with a cloth. Even if you don't have a dishwasher, it takes no time at all in the sink and better for the environment than using anything that is just thrown away. Enjoy your new toy! I love mine.

Not recommended for environmental reasons.

I use paper liners. They can work well but need anchoring by the food, otherwise they can blow around inside and get burnt.

Heat output is a concern. I have mine on a heatproof block and careful to keep the rear away from cupboards or trim that will peel if gets too hot.

Maybe somewhere to plonk the basket on when you remove it, it may be hot for the work surface.

Most beige stuff works well. I want to be more adventurous though. Some of the stuff I have seen Jamie Oliver do looked amazing.

Yes Im hoping to get more adventurous but at the mo its chicken thighs and fish fillets`!
