Advice needed - Corded or Cordless??

My 13 year old Upright Dyson DC 33 is on its way out - it’s been a really great vacuum so want to replace it with another Dyson but I’m conflicted.
The new Dyson cordless vacuums are so expensive and only have a two year guarantee. I don’t want a trigger finger so need to pay £399 for the cheapest one that you can actually switch on/off. Replacement batteries are £100 if they don’t last long - do cordless vacuums have a short life span?
Alternatively I could look at a Dyson Ball upright - cheaper with a 5 year guarantee but corded and much heavier.
I’d really appreciate any advice/experience re cordless vs corded vacuums.

If you can oBly have one, go corded. Cordless arent good for properly cleaning carpets IMO

Cordless is great for quick spot cleans but I need my shark for a proper good vacuum.

People seem to not like them on here but we have a corded Shark upright.
very happy with it.
As @DustyLee123 says , more suction power with a corded.

Isnt it Cyber Monday today? Must be some good deals out there,

Definitely corded, cordless just don’t work well enough to be your only vacuum.

Shark corded are v good (not the cordless, they don’t last). I’d choose one of them over a dyson. The lift away ones are really light & useful.

A couple of years ago I went cordless when my upright died. Several weeks later I noticed a film of hair on the carpet in DD’s room, so I bought a cheap upright and was shocked at what the new hoover picked up. For me the cordless is for hard floors, and a quick clean up of the carpet when needed.

We have a shark cordless and it's brilliant. Has a 5yr guarantee. Replaced a part no probs. We use it several times a day.

We have both a cordless and corded Shark.
As an experiment, I went over our bedroom carpet with the cordless, then the corded, the former had left a lot behind, as evidenced by the amount in the corded!

I bought a cordless Dyson last year and wish I didn’t bother, the handheld part of it is heavy, the anti hair wrap on the main part just spits out anything that’s not dust so makes more mess. I ended up buying a reconditioned version of my old corded Hoover.
Only use Dyson for a quick hoover of the car now and again with the handheld part.
