Growing up for me (90s / 00s) it was all about the tinsel and 89p foil decs hanging from corner to corner of the ceiling, tree in the corner obvs.

Now I'm a 'grown up' (allegedly) I never know what's fashionable in the world of Xmas decorations. I've noticed that you can barely buy the foil ones any more so how else do people decorate?

We'll do the tree of course, I have a nice little light up garland for the mantlepiece... I need some inspiration for what else! I've got 2 little ones (4 & 6) so I want it to feel Christmassy for them without it feeling too OTT / cluttered for us, and also without spending a fortune!

So please share yours! Bonus points for pics 😂 thanks!

We decorate about 10 days before Christmas. A real 6ft Christmas tree with decorations in the living room and a string of fairy lights around the inside of the bay window. Some years I go overboard and gather holly with berries (hopefully!) to decorate the picture frames downstairs but that will be on 23rd or 24th Dec. I buy quite a nice Christmas paper tablecloth most years. And we light a few candles.

We have some simple white lights outside the house because dd really wanted some.

I have a really pretty glass and white light string I put in a bay window. All very minimal.

Inside I have some red berry lights around the sitting room and lights round the main mirror.

Real tree and non matching decorations. Still have some that kids made when little.

I love simplicity and it being personal
