Home made sausage rolls: worth the faff?

I've never made sausage rolls before but we've got friends coming round next weekend for drinks and a buffet. I quite fancied giving it a go, is it worth it? And if so, is there a simple and failsafe recipe/ method? I'm not a skilled cook as you can probably guess 😊

I add a box of Paco to minced pork. Put a dollop of cranberry sauce under the mix on the pastry. Once rolled up egg wash then sprinkle with parmesan.

Good home made sausage rolls are easy to make and usually much better than shop bought. Yeah I can buy gorgeous ones in my local posh bakery, but I can make a whole batch of nicer ones for the same price as a couple of bakery ones. I always add a grated apple, grated cheese and a tablespoon of bbq sauce or caramelised onion, and use pork or beef mince rather than sausage meat. Chicken herb and feta is nice too. I usually buy puff pastry, but rough puff is easy to make too, so I do them when entertaining as people are easily impressed by any home made pastry I find. God, now I want a sausage roll!

I absolutely love this thread! DP is currently claiming that he 'doesn't like sausage rolls' but I think we'll see about that 🤔
