Lease car gone over mileage

Hi
I currently lease a car through a salary sacrifice scheme with my employer. I have been in the scheme for just about one year. My circumstances have changed over the last year meeting that I am doing quite a few more miles than I was when I signed up. I agreed to Anne annual limit of 10,000 miles and the price I pay was based on that.
I have gone quite a bit over the 10,000 miles in my first year, and I am concerned that at this rate I will be left to pay a fairly hefty lump sum at the end of my lease agreement in 2027. The charge for access mileage is 44p per mile
I have spoken to the leasing company and they have said that they are able to re-calculate my monthly price based on my increase mileage. This would prevent me from having to pay a lump sum at the end of the agreement. I have read online this looks as though it would be the most cost-effective route forward.
Does anyone else with the lease car have any experience of this s?Has anyone else changed their mileage during the course of their lease term? If so, was there a significant difference in the price you were paying before, compared to the new increased price.

We had a bill of £2k for going over the mileage so it makes sense to increase the monthly amount payment.

Depends if you are considering paying the lump sum at the end to own the car - they won't care about mileage if you are keeping the car

If it’s lease that isn’t an option.
I’ve never gone over I always say I’ll do 10k knowing I’ll only do 8k.
That said I think changing your contract is probably better than per mile.
