Any doctors around?

My daughter has been complaining on and off about stomach pain just above or around her belly button. The last time she had it was Halloween. She has it today. She did eat lots of sweets this morning when we were watching a film. She's off school with a cold.
I am going to contact the doctors tomorrow but feeling very anxious tonight.
Anyone any idea what it could be? She had it in August too when we were on holiday. She has it then it goes for ages. Never gets worse, and she can be distracted, have fun. She can't really explain what kind of pain it is. She's 8.
Anyone any ideas?

Not to give medical advice (I'm an anaesthetist so long way from medicine), but kids are prone to mesenteric adenitis - they get inflammatory.of the lymph nodes in the gut when unwell with viruses which causes abdo pain so could well be that

Kids are prone to abdominal migraines (stress induced abdo pain) too

But really she needs full history and examination x

Thank you. I am going to call doctors first thing tomorrow. She has taken a painkiller now but still struggling. I asked her what is the pain on scale of 1-10 and she gave it a 4

Did she also eat a lot of sweets at Halloween? Could be the connection. Indigestion can be triggered by sugar overload and is very painful in little ones

No it was before she ate the sweets, while we were still out trick or treating. It did cross my mind though. I got her to drink fizzy water to try and make her burp but it didn't help.

She's very young, but bellybutton pain can be caused by endometriosis- deposits of womb lining away from the womb.

Is early puberty a possibility, and her body gearing up for periods? The episodes are roughly a month apart.
