Toddler constantly telling me to 'look'

Now I've tried telling myself one day he will be a grumpy teen and I'll look back and miss this but it's starting to get a bit irritating and happening more and more. I can't tell you how many times in a single minute he tells me to 'mummy look'. Whether he is watching tv, in the car, doing everything and anything everything requires me to 'look' non stop. He has just turned 3, any other toddler go through this stage? Am I being mean getting irritated by it?

Then the "poo" stage when they shout poo or willy and then go into hysterics.

You forgot farts too!

Just got round to reading the replies, I'm relieved to hear it's a phase a lot of them go through and I do feel really guilty by it getting on my nerves at times (I don't show it, but when I'm driving and he keeps saying it then I tell him mummy really needs to concentrate on the road) but he is actually the sweetest soul and I really do know I'll absolutely miss these days where he wants to show me everything and anything, even when I'm already looking at the thing he is showing me 😂 just in the moment it can feel a bit much sometimes!

You forgot farts too!

I can get on board with the fart stage being funny though! (Unless out in public, then it's obviously a bit embarrassing, but as someone close to me said once - there's nowt as funny as a fart!)

If you haven't snapped "because it is!" at least once at a child in the annoying "why" phase, are you really a parent?!

Totally normal to feel guilty about it - they're adorable, annoying, little blighters. Their cuteness is just there to outweigh the irritating bits!

It is a child discovering the marvels of the world, for fuck's sake!!!
He wants to share his fascination for the world with you, the person he adores. How can you find this irritating? I can't understand why some mothers have children. You should stick to a pet or something.

The 'look' stage is much easier than the 'why' stage

Constantly having to think of answers is hard 🤣

I would pay hard cash to have my child want my attention. He's 14 and has absolutely no use for me at all.

He was a chin grabber too, how dare I look at anything else but him 😂 Oh god how I miss it, but yes it drives you mad. They do grow out of it, I promise.

Ah that just gave me a lump in my throat! 🤣 I have boys 12 and 2 and it's so true

Aw, make the most of these times - be glad that he's finding the world a fascinating place and wants to share each and every little thing with you.

Just wait until he's a teen and can't even bear being in the same room!
