How did you manage to not drink during pregnancy?

Just that, really. I've never been pregnant. Out of all the things pregnant women do for their children, the one thing that impresses me the most is that they can manage to not drink! For such a long time!

I'm not an alcoholic but just cannot fathom not being able to get a beer or two every couple of days, whenever I want.

So for people who used to drink regularly before your pregnancy, do you just... go cold turkey out of sheer will power?? Or did pregnancy make you alcohol-adverse?

Genuinely curious.

You do it for little one.....I also replaced the rum and coke with bake off for a slice of cake or McDonald's chicken nuggets.

When it comes to my babies I want to make the sacrifices.

I don't want to make them for other people or for no reason but I actually want to do it for my babies so its not as big a hardship. Everything else fades in significance. I don't feel like I'm giving up in a way because I'd rather have them.

I really like a (bottle of) wine, but as soon as I found out I was pregnant with both mine I stopped drinking straight away... and the occasional smoking that often came with it.

It was just a given for me. I know it's safe to have the odd drink but for one I didn't feel like it (wasn't sick but felt rough, kinda like a hangover feeling for the first few months) and also it's prob bad but I don't see the point of one glass. I'm a 2 or 3 at least kinda girl!

I did however drink a few glasses on occasion whilst breastfeeding. Weighing it up I didn't feel like the was a risk there.

Back up to my usual wine levels now they are at school 😂

I love a drink and never went off it but not a drop passed my lips whilst pregnant. Just willpower and the thought that it was something I could do to help ensure my baby would be as healthy as possible.
