Getting rid of hair and fluff from a fleece?

Hi MN. I've got an old fleece jacket that I am quite fond of. Over the years it has accrued quite a lot of hairs and fluff from various sources. It gets washed regularly but the hairs and fluff are still there. Is there a way to get rid of the hairs and stuff or reduce the amount of it, without having to bin the fleece completely? Have a DP who reckons once anything gets excess hair on it, it has to go in the bin because it's ruined. I don't like getting rid of stuff though.

Surely just use a lint roller?

Lint roller or I remember seeing something you add to wash that catches pet hairs

I don't use a lint roller, with 4 cats, I would be buying refills all the time.

I now use the quite inexpensive rolls of 2 inch masking tape, a.k.a. 'painters tape'.
Mine is green in colour, and I just take a few inches of it, and dab away at the fleece. I use it mainly on my black fleece and it works great! No washing takes off cat hairs, and this is easy, available, cheap and effective!

Pull the fluff and hair off with sellotape? Ot is it matted into the fleece?

2" wide masking tape works as well as lint roller sheets and is way less expensive, you use as much, or as little as you need, you can take with you in the car for quick lint removal, available at pound stores, and it works well.
