I want to paint white.
IKEA descrip says it's pine and to use wax,oil or glazing paint.
What is glazing paint ?
Any advice?

Checked the Swedish website for you and they say oil, wax or "lasera", which is that sort of see-through paint finish, a wash. Glazing paint seems to be more of an art term, so I don't know why they used it.

From experience I can say you can paint these with almost anything while they are untreated! I was mad for these when I was young and used wall paint, furniture paint... even my water colours at some point for detail. It's more a question of durability and how much of "child's art project" you are keen on ;)

Oh thank you@banivani - how kind to look for the translation !
And for the advice.
I see there are a million YouTube clips on this.
But I'm already preferring your simple advice.

No problem! Have a think about how much protection you need from wear and tear that's all (wall paint is likely to chip, and creative solutions like water colour ;) should really get a coat of varnish or it keeps rubbing off with any moisture).

Just get a small tin of paint meant for furniture is my advice. My only caveat is that the paint adds a slight extra to a surface, so pay attention to that. The drawers won't slide in if you suddenly add too much extra surface. Best to have a light touch.

Brilliant , thanks so much .I wouldn't have thought about being careful not to overcoat and impede the drawers.
