Charity shop give away regrets

Today I am meeting an old friend for lunch. The weather here is not great - several inches of lying snow and very cold, so although we're meeting in a nice restaurant about half way between us (about 10 miles away, in my case) I'm wrapping up warm. I am dressed appropriately in smart trousers and a nice top, with boots and have just gone into my wardrobe to get out a top coat I rarely wear, but which would be perfect for today - warm and matches my outfit.

Except ...... I now realise, I gave it to the charity shop a couple of months ago, because "I never wear it!!" GAH!!

Please make me feel better and share your charity shop give away regrets. I can't be the only one!

Not the same but I sold a paid of £180 boots on eBay last week for £11. My mum asked me yesterday if she could have them for the snow. Gutted.

I forgot to mention, and here's one for the books.

5 years ago I had started to box up donations and had stacked, up against a wall, several medium to small sized cardboard boxes.

I had closed the four flaps,in readiness to donate ,but there's always a gap where the flaps meet.

On my high dresser was a much loved necklace; a black cord and pewter pendant in a Celtic design.

I went to wear it one day... it was gone.

Long story short, I turned the house upside down looking in vain for it.

I came to the eventual conclusion that our newly acquired & adventurous (read quite naughty, actually) young cat, must surely have leapt onto the high dresser, run off with the necklace, jumped on the boxes, and dropped the necklace through the gap.

Of course before I came to that conclusion, the boxes, and my lovely necklace, were gone!

I gave away a black velvet stretch mini skirt. Shortly afterwards DH (not muc bigger than me) needed it for a fancy dress costume so he had to go and buy it back 😄
