Is it worth getting with two baskets? Or is one sufficient? Thanks!

Definitely 2

GrazingLamb · 20/11/2024 17:11

2 for sure

GreenSmithing · 20/11/2024 17:14

If you want to cook meals in it without putting on the oven, then two definitely. If it's more for heating up snacks and sides, then one drawer will do. If you're undecided, I would go for two drawer.

devildeepbluesea · 20/11/2024 17:17

Definitely 2. It’s just me and DD and I had a single basket one. Used it so infrequently I gave it away. Got a 2-basket one and it’s in constant use.

tobee · 20/11/2024 17:18

I've got one big draw. The main reason being is it has good capacity but isn't a massive appliance. So I suggest you look at the overall measurements compared to your space for it

tobee · 20/11/2024 17:18

And I have no problem doing two different items at once, 4 adults and use it every day

Caswallonthefox · 20/11/2024 17:57

Mine has a removable divider.

If you get one with shelves instead of baskets you can cook something different on each shelf, or something big in the whole thing. Plus you don't have to rethink your cooking methods.

BuffaloCauliflower · 20/11/2024 18:07

I’ve got a Tower one with one giant drawer that can be split into two if needed and it’s perfect. Definitely recommend.

Sorry to high jack your thread op, but what brand do people use? My parents have said to choose one for Christmas but I don't know which brand is any good?

Go for it! I'd like to find out too.

Ninja 🥷

TheBunyip · 20/11/2024 18:36

My Ninja died 2 days past its 2 year warranty expired and having googled it’s a common complaint and they are not known for their longevity. They’re quite expensive for a couple of years.

Moremustard · 20/11/2024 19:21

It depends on your household and what you want to cook. One big drawer can be better if your oven proof dishes are bigger than a single double drawer. In any air fryer, that you are using instead of an oven, drawer size matters. A double drawer can be useful if you are cooking several items at different temperatures however in my experience of an oven/air fryer most things are cooked at a similar temperature (oven 180c)

Moremustard · 20/11/2024 19:22

Cosori and Chefree are both well reviewed and cheaper than Ninja if you look at YouTube

Ours was by a week touch screen went to buggery then shut down completely.
Now got two drawer scoville..it's great 👍

LateMumma · 20/11/2024 19:42

We've got a pretty basic 2 drawer Salter that does everything we need it to.

driedapricots101 · 20/11/2024 19:42

We have breville halo - it's great!
Question re baskets/ shelves. What's better for chips/ nuggets type things.. pile them in & shake up in basket or lay out flat on a tray? I did some oven chips in basket & seemed to take ages & stuck together but fresh ones were pretty good done in basket.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 20/11/2024 19:51

Two basket 🥷

LilacLilyBird · 20/11/2024 19:52

I have a ninja with a single 4.7L basket

It's the perfect size for us and so easy to clean

Everything cooks really well in it and it doesn't take up much space at all

But if you have the space you might as well get the ninja 9L which has 2 drawers the size of mine.

Once you get one you'll realise why everyone raves about them

I haven't had mine long enough to want or need 2 drawers yet but I imagine having one drawer for meat and one for veg etc would be useful

LittleGreenDragons · 20/11/2024 19:55

I've recently got a Tower one with shelves rather than drawers. It really does look like a mini table oven.

Couldn't tell you the make of mine off the top of my head, but it cost me £15 from one of many charity shops in my local town. Maybe you could have that kind of luck.

Fireworknight · 21/11/2024 20:45

Two baskets. We only really use the oven now for roasts, pizza and cakes.
