What affordable items - say max £15 - are on your Crimbo lists for kids to buy you

Kids have all got a lot of expenses going out their bank accounts so we have arrived at a ruling ( all agreed with it) about presents . No more than 2 presents for everyone and ideally each is approx up to £15. But I don't have any ideas what I want or need.
What ideas in this range would you have on your list for crimbo presents please?
Many thanks

( if interested, I asked this question elsewhere and still haven't worked out how to move questions)

Oh with her saying kids I thought she meant children.

Yes from 21 to 29. They're always going to be my kids, whatever their ages. I don't know another way of describing their relationship to me.

This isn't the first time we've set some parameters. Given I buy myself the things I need, I've been pondering what to ask for and now I've received a lot of helpful responses. It's going to be easy to give out some ideas now.

M&S Apothecary fragrance set and a Tarot card tote bag from Waterstones

FaceLikeACrackedScreen · 17/11/2024 18:48

I'd like some Clarins lip oil - comes in a tiny one within budget, a book, pink champagne truffles, basically anything that I use up as I don't want any more things in my life. Tin of nice biscuits or tea (I like tins I can re-use).

John Lewis have a great range of stocking filler type gifts in this price bracket.

Busywithsomething · 18/11/2024 12:50

@Silvertulips yes, they usually do their own secret Santa. But this is for other presents on top of that. Sometimes they also buy for my parents and my in-laws so we try to moderate the whole gifting experience .

@Ginkypig I like your thinking! If you're happy, that's what it's all about. Why not?

@FaceLikeACrackedScreen thanks for your reply. Just been over to John Lewis and yes, there's some great ideas on that. I might sneak the clinique almost lipstick on my list. If you don't ask you don't get.

I'm glad youve found the posts useful.
I know exactly what you mean by kids
My DS's are 30,27 and 23 and to quote the corny phrase their" presence is my present" but it matters to them so I choose something from your budget too

A bottle of wine.
I don't cook, but I love cookery books so one of those!
A novel.
Molton Brown liquid soap from one, and the matching hand cream from another.
New socks.
A pepper mill.

GameOfJones · 18/11/2024 13:55

For that budget I would like:

A decent bottle of red wine
An eye mask for sleeping
No7 Hydraluminous lip balm
Body lotion
A puzzle book
An Oxo good grips potato peeler
Fluffy socks

Busywithsomething · 19/11/2024 11:04

@Normallynumb I'm glad you followed it. I'm sure each family has their own little methods and arrangements, however explicit or not you make it.

@Leeds2 thanks very much for yours. Our pepper mill is getting decidedly ropey so I could put that idea down. Great shout .

@GameOfJones thanks for your as well. Red wine always goes down well and our potato peeler keeps going away on holiday so a second one would be a good idea. Merci very much !

Lotus biscoff chocolate
Striped match stick holder
Candle
Nice mug

Hi Smiley, can I ask about the striped matchstick holder please? Is this for lighting candles and how would you light them without the scratchy part on the side of the box please?

Cheers

I will get a fluffy blanket from DD, I think they are £8 at Primark.
DH will get a wall calendar as every year.
We try to stay under £10.

I also have a December birthday, not sure what to do yet.

In the past DD gave me:
keyring
fluffy pillow
books
wine glasses
teddy (joint with DH as it was a special one for a big birthday)
handcraved wooden owl

I think it's good if children learn to save for gifts and buy gifts for others themselves. DD gets enough pocketmoney and the only rule is that she automatically saves some of it for presents (the amount was increased to facilitate this).
I think DD was 14 when we started this. It's the same when DH and I grew up.

I just got one of those for my birthday and it's fantastic! I'm assuming you mean the Only Curls one anyway? It's down to £15.40 for Black Friday so even if it's no good for the OP, it's a great shout for any other curly tops amongst us.
