What do you do at kids tea parties?

Dd is about to turn 8, we’ve always held parties out of the home as we’ve not had enough space to host before (shared bedrooms) but now live in a home where she has her own bedroom and an ok size living room (also have a garden but it’ll be cold as second week of December).

She wants to have a tea party with 8-10 friends but I have no idea what kind of things they’ll do for 2/3 hours? Any ideas greatly appreciated!

Also looking for ideas.
I was thinking cupcake decorating and bracelet making.

What does she want to do? I’ll bet she has some ideas.

8 is still young enough for some classic party games if you think she’d like that. Or you could get twister or some other active type game for them to play together.

Get an inexpensive karaoke machine - there’s mini ones on tik tok shop for less than a tenner.

Or you could set up some crafty things - making bracelets or headbands, making slime if you can cope with the mess, colouring, gem art, paint a tree ornament/ mug/ whatever etc, design/ create your own t-shirt - there’s inexpensive kits available for all these things or you can google DIY options

They could do some element of making the food - get pizza bases and let them add their own, let them decorate their own cupcake that type of thing.

I’ve seen someone on tiktok do like a mini ‘spa’ - they set up a few really simple ‘stations’ like a relaxation room with colouring in, comfy cushions and throws. Then a little nail station where the mum painted their nails (and they got little nail stickers too), another one was glitter tattoos and I can’t remember the other ones but sure you could think of some stuff!

With that age group, I'd do some Taylor Swift-style bracelet making, maybe some Hama beads, or design some ceramics with markers, maybe get a disco light and have a playlist, some impromptu karaoke might follow, making some fruity concoctions to drink with umbrellas, they could have it in teacups if you wanted to have a 'tea party' theme.

If you have a lot of recycling and stuff, my Brownies (7-10) recently did an activity where they made fashion out of bin bags and recycling and they all absolutely loved it, they didn't want to stop. They made some amazing stuff!

Thank you, you’ve given me some great ideas to work with!
DD just wants to have them all over to play Barbie’s which is fine for a short time but I imagine some may get bored quicker than others
