Would my life be better if I was reading a book right now

Instead of scrolling on my phone?
I imagine it would but can't seem to do it.

I find the Richard Osman good for getting me back into reading, they are light, and an easy read similarly I often raid DDs bookshelf, there are many well written teen books. I particularly enjoyed the Percy Jackson series and Artemis Fowl. Once I'm back in the habit then. Tackle something more challenging.

I also have a different book in different places, I have a book in my bag, one in the car, one next to where I sit in the living room, one by my bed etc, yes it does mean I'm reading about 6 books at once but that's no more difficult than reading and contributing to different threads

@Bestwishes23 I listen to audiobooks and podcasts on my commute.
I'd probably scroll through my phone even then if I could, but thankfully I can't so I resort to the audio stuff.

Certainly your eyes will thank you for the break. I live a good Agatha Christie myself, but equally will try anything that's 50p in my local charity shop. Enjoy!

I'm devastated at how my attention span has been ruined by my phone, I used to read for hours or watch a film and be totally submerged in it. Now even when I'm watching a programme I love I keep grabbing my phone to scroll. I pick it up so much out of habit. It's really shit

Me too! It's awful

I have read sixty books this year. I do this by getting up at 5.30 and reading for an hour first thing. I find I concentrate so much better in the morning and love sitting with the fairy lights on and my cuppa reading my book. I never have time later in the day and if I try to read in the evening I just nod off.

It probably would be better if you tried to address your phone addiction.

Whether or not that involves reading depends how much you like to read.

I found this video really helpful:
