Ditch Estate Agent or give them a chance?

So house not receiving offers and viewings are infrequent. Agent suggested dropping price. Obviously this will be seen on Rightmove as a reduced price. If I went with a new agent it would not appear as reduced on Rightmove. I'm not unhappy with the current agent so not sure what to do,

Advice welcome

I would reduce the price with the same agent. That's providing you are happy with the photos etc. I'm not put off by houses that have been reduced, it may make me think there's a bit of wiggle room on price but it also indicated that the sellers are serious about selling and not just testing the market.

It also depends whether your house falls into a different stamp duty bracket. We reduced ours to put it on the threshold and had several offers and two purchasers. We eventually sold it for 5K more than the first buyer offered.

It would still show as a reduced price on Zoopla even if you changed agent. You can't hide from a savvy prospective buyer how long it's been on the market or changes in asking price.

Drop price if that's what you want to do. Keep the agent if you're happy with them.
