One of my friends is suffering and always feeling like they’re not doing enough.

They made a lot of money at a young age between 20-23

Totalling 400k in investments and 600k money in the bank.

any words of advice to give them a reality check? As they’re constantly down and always wanting more and never seems enough to them.

they don’t feel like they’re doing enough in life

I bet earning that much money that quickly came at a price and if that makes you recognisable, you'll be dragging that through life.
I'd start with some really good counselling to put it all into perspective in terms of a much longer life.

Personally I believe it’s made him value money less than what it is.

will spend 1k for a meal and not bat an eyelid it’s crazy. Doesn’t value money the same.

If I only had a million I’m not sure I’d be buying meals for £1000.

Mt563 · 12/11/2024 13:27

Reality check: they have more saved, than many will earn in total over their entire lives.

Erm....that's not the person you feel sorry for.....does this person ever walk past homeless people or have they ever heard of the 'cost of living crisis' Anyway, give him a hug from me. 🤗

Well on % terms. 1k is very very small % of 600k.

Well the price is, he doesn't value money.
How about an accountant pointing out the reality of spending, savings, potential future earnings.

It's definitely a poisoned chalice for him.

Spinet · 12/11/2024 13:31

Money isn't meaning is it. They need to think about giving their life meaning. Learning, making connections and relationships with other people, giving time/ money to people who need it, making and building things. Those are the shirts of thing they could do if real.

BobbyBiscuits · 12/11/2024 13:31

Wow, please tell me the MLM scheme they made their fortunes with?! 🙃🤣🤣

He makes it back extremely quickly that’s what I meant apologies. He spends 1k like it’s nothing as he makes it very quickly

Go on then, how did you your friend make this money?

DoublePasta · 12/11/2024 13:36

Why would someone who has self-made a million pounds need a reality check?

Their reality is that they have made a lot of money.

A service based business

i dont understand why people are so bitter and think it’s so abnormal. There’s a lot of young successful people

I don’t quite understand.

Which bit of my sentence makes you think I agree with the previous poster who called it a pile of happy face poop?

TheDandyLion · 12/11/2024 13:43

Well I suppose you could call OnlyFans a service based business.

Thevelvelletes · 12/11/2024 13:46

Goady post op ..must try harder.

Dashel · 12/11/2024 13:47

Maybe it is time they used some of their wealth to help others? Giving something back might make them realise how much financially they have but how much they would benefit from helping others

JollyJoker · 12/11/2024 13:48

redgingerbread · 12/11/2024 13:46

Suffering in what way? Does he think he isn’t earning enough or living enough or working to much?
