Stiff brush for moss removal

My tarmac driveway is starting to get quite a lot of moss build up on either side of it. I'd like to get rid of it before it spreads much more.

I can't use a pressure washer (no outside tap) and I'd rather not use chemicals.

Can anyone recommend a stiff brush?

I believe I win the prize for dullest thread of the day....

If it is flat tarmac I would start with a hoe- just to gently slide under any thick areas to loosen and lift. After that I would use an old fashioned stiff broom.
You can get some ‘portable’ pressure washers where you can use a big bucket of water, this may be an idea afterwards to lift all the little bits left over.

I had a good outcome on a single mossy flagstone using an old fashioned stiff broom, first of all vigorous brushing to loosen and shove off as much as possible then scrubbing with ordinary table salt and washing up liquid, rinsing with a bucket of water and repeating about 5 times. I did think afterwards I could have used a coal shovel for the shoving off stage, but I had already got the bit between my teeth and wouldn't have stopped to search for it anyway.

Power washing is actually the only way.

Soz. 😬

Moss is lovely! I encourage it to grow.

If you want to remove it, slide a wide knife under and lift it. Disintegrating it with brush or power washer is just going to spread around fragments that will regrow. Read up on how it propagates itself.

Biological washing powder sprinkled on it in the evening when it will be dry overnight. It turns it black in 24/48 hours and can easily be swept up.

I got ours from Poundland, it's just a stiff hand brush but you can screw a broom handle into it
