How can I stop recurring ingrown hair on chin?

With the joy of the wiry hairs that now sprout out of my chin regularly I have one hair that causes a spot every time it comes through.
I get a small bump appear in exactly the same place every couple of weeks, it gets bigger and bigger until eventually I am able to break the skin and pluck the bugger out.

Is there anything I can do to stop this one becoming ingrown every time?
It's always incredibly satisfying once I get it, but the recurring spot/bump is very annoying.

My DH uses a product called tend skin (which I sometimes nab!) there's probably other products out there.

Next time ease the ingrown hair to the surface but don't pluck it. You can cut it a few mil from the skin.

Get a beauty specialist to do short wave diathermy or electrolysis, a single hair won't cost much.

This way it weakens the root or kills it entirely depending on the stage of growth.

Honestly this sounds amazing to me, I’m jealous. Love an ingrown hair!

I always see ads for lotions and potions that stop ingrown hairs - meant for the bikini line so surely they’re sensitive enough to work on your face too?

I agree with the advice to get it to break through the skin but not pluck. Your skin needs to heal with the pore having enough room for the hair to come out, and the hair needs to learn how to grow straight not curly. I do that with ingrowers on my legs and have a good success rate with them not recurring.

Electrolysis is ideal for those random annoying hairs.

Yes to electrolysis! Kill the bugger off. The only issue is they won’t do it on broken skin so you’ll need to be very very careful with it and probably let it erupt on its own.

You need an acid exfoliant.

The Ordinary Glycolpc acid or nip and fab salacylic pads are excellent

Electrolysis! It's amazing. I had these hairs - more and more of the wirey little things, which made a bump and then a scab each time they tried to push through. I found it so depressing. But electrolysis sorted it out in just a few sessions. Now I go in maybe once a year for a couple of sessions to catch new ones that sprout. It really works.

Thanks all for the suggestions.
I must admit I do love it when I manage to get the hair out, it's very satisfying. But it's annoying it's on my face and each time I pluck it out there's a chance a spot will develop once it's open.

I'll have a look at all of the ideas.
